Position Overview

 

Based at our subsidiary in the Philippines, in order to further strengthen our local team, we are currently seeking for a:

 

 

Safety Officer and Equipment Reliability Engineer

(Taguig City, Philippines)

 

 

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the Safety Officer and Equipment Reliability Engineer is responsible to oversee the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and instruments to ensure it will work safely and efficiently. The job titleholder is called upon to improve the plant's efficiency, upgrade to new technologies, new product development, repair equipment, increase production, and reduce manufacturing issues including bottlenecks. The plant engineer is responsible for equipment and plant safety. He/she will represent government requirement for safety and documents needed to ensure compliance.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Plan, control, coordinate and supervise the activities performed in equipment, machinery, instrumentation and related facilities to ensure continuous, reliable and safe operation.
  • Supervise, monitor and support in installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Establish and implement a systematic and effective preventive maintenance program to reduce, minimize or eliminate equipment breakdown and downtime in operations.
  • Analyze machine failures to minimize reoccurrence of technical issues.
  • Conduct research to improve efficiency of systems and equipment.
  • Responsible for the calibration of equipment and instrumentation.
  • Outsource, coordinate and support third party services in performing maintenance activities.
  • Monitor and supervise the parameters of equipment that are within the acceptable limit such as Boiler, compressors and support utilities
  • Order and control machine spare parts and chemicals inventory.
  • Assure that the lubricant, oil and chemicals used in equipment are food grade as necessary.
  • Control and monitor job order request.
  • Control and monitor maintenance waste such as chemical cannister, busted lamp and used batteries.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for equipment installation, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for reference purposes such as Operations manual, user manual, certification, and MSDS.
  • Prepare and document all maintenance and repairs performed and file records properly.
  • Conduct equipment life cycle cost analysis for CAPEX proposal
  • Implementation and execution of CAPEX
  • Prepare analysis for Capitalizable and ensurance parts
  • Advice the management ,operations manager, supervisors and workers on OSH
  • Investigate accident and report to management
  • Coordinate safety training program within the plant needs and compliance to OSH
  • Conduct safety and health inspection with the plant needs and compliance to OSH
  • Maintain accident records system
  • Provide assistance to government agencies in the conduct of health and safety inspection, accident investigation or any other related programs
  • Exchange communication and information with the Purchasing, Production, QC, Planning and R&D and 3rd party maintenance
  • Ensure adherence to HSE legal compliance
  • Cover the food safety risks (fit for work, personal hygiene)
  • Work to the agreed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure safety is maintained
  • Report any unsafe situation to immediate superior.
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment
  • Wearing the necessary personal protective equipment, appropriate for the given task.
  • Respect the general hygiene measures of the company.
  • Follow the agreements made in connection with food defense.
  • Monitoring of utilities (water, gas, electricity, glycol, coolingwater, compressed air.
  • Comply with  SOP, GMP, FSSC, HACCP, quality standards and 5S requirements within department.
  • Ensure CCP’s and control maintained in good condition.
  • Ensure that maintenance activity will not incur to cross contamination.
  • Contribute to Short Interval Control reviews as requested.
  • Support timely close out of technical issues impacting production (SIC)
  • Assist R&D for NPD projects related to equipment availability
  • Work closely to contracted services and ensure compliance and effective

 

 

Profile

  • With experience as Safety Officer/Equipment Reliability Engineer for a minimum of 4 years
  • Must be a Licensed Mechanical Engineer
  • Experienced in a Food Manufacturing firm is an advantage.
  • With strong Interpersonal, Leadership, Presentation, Motivational, Organizational and Problem Solving Skills.
  • Excellent in Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • With the ability to identify and resolve complex operational problems and procedural issues.
  • Knowledgeable on ISO Standards, HACCP, GMP and Plant Safety.
  • Able to interact with all professionals of Plant Management, ability to work with diverse group of professionals in close cooperation.
  • Keen eye of details, has strong knowledge of system analysis and Workflow Management.
  • Strong organizational and Time Management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Able to motivate, influence and train people, with the ability to provide individual-based seminar/workshop.
  • Computer Literate (MS/EXCEL/Powerpoint Presentation)
  • Had undergo a Training for BOSH/COSH.
