Director of Sales, Chocolate

(Richmond, BC)

Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, Large Accounts, the incumbent will be responsible to lead and inspire a dynamic sales team within the chocolate industry, driving revenue growth through strategic market penetration, exceptional client relationships, and innovative sales initiatives. Our mission is to position our chocolate products as synonymous with health and wellbeing, offering innovative and value-added options.

Starting Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute sales strategies to drive B2B chocolate sales for Puratos and Foley’s brands.
  2. Identify and cultivate relationships with key business clients in the chocolate industry, including industrial chocolatiers, retailers, distributors.
  3. Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling sales materials and promotional campaigns tailored to each channel.
  4. Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends including the commodity market, competitor activities, and customer preferences, adjusting strategies accordingly.
  5. Lead negotiations and contract discussions with potential and existing clients, ensuring favorable terms and long-term partnerships.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, , operations, and finance, to ensure seamless product development and order fulfillment.
  7. Analyze sales performance metrics, forecasting, generate reports, and make recommendations to improve the performance and the customer experience.
  8. Stay informed about product developments and industry advancements to effectively communicate the value proposition of our chocolate products to clients.
  9. Train and mentor sales representatives, fostering a high-performance culture within the sales team.
  10. Lead and oversee the customer service team, ensuring efficient and effective handling of customer orders, concerns, and feedback.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience sales, preferably in the chocolate or food industry.
  2. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  3. Excellent communication and presentation abilities to effectively convey product value.
  4. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and make strategic recommendations.
  5. Results-driven and able to thrive in a target-driven environment.
  6. Knowledge of the chocolate industry, market trends, and customer behavior.
  7. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.

  2. Travel of 50% anticipated.
