Quality Assurance Engineer (Groot-Bijgaarden)
Your Mission
As Quality Assurance Engineer, you play a key role in safeguarding the food safety and quality of our products throughout the entire production process. You help maintain and continuously improve our Quality Assurance system, ensuring compliance with global standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. In this role, you enable operational teams to make the right quality decisions by providing expertise, guidance, and structured processes. You contribute directly to customer satisfaction, risk reduction, and operational excellence. Ultimately, your work ensures that every product leaving our site is safe, compliant, and of the highest quality
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain and update HACCP, TACCP, and PRP programs, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and international standards (BRC, FDA, Halal, Kosher, customer requirements).
- Coordinate validation and verification activities for CCPs, CPs, and PRPs to guarantee robust process control.
- Support risk assessments for production processes, new product developments, and operational changes, ensuring timely implementation of required actions.
- Manage non-conformities and CAPA processes, lead root cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and facilitate internal audits, certification audits, customer audits, and food safety inspections.
- Train and coach operators and staff on quality topics such as GMP, HACCP, and audit readiness.
- Monitor and report site Quality KPIs, proactively identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
Who are we looking for?
- A Bachelor or Master’s degree in a scientific field, or equivalent experience in Quality in a production environment (minimum 3 years).
- Proven expertise in Quality Assurance, including HACCP principles, risk assessments, contamination prevention, and food safety systems.
- Hands-on experience with food industry certifications such as BRC, IFS, FSSC22000, Kosher, Halal, or customer-specific standards.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to take responsibility for critical quality decisions.
- Ability to manage a diverse set of stakeholders, from operators to management teams, with excellent communication skills.
- Fluent in English and French; Dutch is an asset.
- Organized, analytical, and structured, with a continuous improvement mindset.
