Manager of Import, Export and Replenishment Planning

Reporting to the US Supply Chain Director, the Import/Export & Replenishment Planning Manager will have dual roles: 1) manage/define the strategy for the Import and Export process ensuring compliance with US and foreign government laws and regulations and 2) leading a team of four direct reports who are responsible for total company replenishment planning, including imports. 



KEY TASKS – Import/Export


  • Lead all Trade Compliance efforts:
    1. Develop strategy for managing Import, FTZ compliance and Export control regulations, oversee compliance, documentation and reporting.
    2. Provide guidance and direction for HTS assignments and Customs Clearance instructions.
    3. Evaluate, implement, and support opportunities for optimizing duty savings associated with Customs imports by conducting duty analyses and use of duty minimization programs (i.e., FTZs and FTAs), prototype provision and establishing processes for compliance.
    4. Act as the point person for interactions with regulatory agencies such as U.S. Customs; participates in meetings and assists with audits, audit preparations and/or questions about transactions.
  • Maintain Export demand forecasts in SAP IBP (demand forecasting system), communicate and manage discontinuations with Export partners.
  • Develop and implement shipping strategies to meet financial performance and operational efficiency goals.
  • Oversee Import/Export freight management to monitor carrier performance and drive improvements to optimize service levels. Work with Shipping/Receiving teams to drive system, process and productivity improvements.
  • Track import status, communicate delays and formulate contingencies.  Interact and communicate with Sales, Manufacturing and Customer Service.


KEY TASKS – Replenishment Planning


  • People Leadership: Oversee, direct, and manage all operations related to company-wide replenishment activities and planning management.  Lead a team of four replenishment planners, maximizing their contributions, evolve their skills, and identifying development opportunities. 
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive replenishment inventory strategies and processes in alignment with key inventory targets, and financial goals.
  • Create and execute strategies for the implementation of replenishment and inventory to achieve key financial outcomes while proactively identifying improvements.
  • Continuously improve replenishment planning through open communication with:
      1. Demand Planning and Sales regarding item forecasting
      2. Manufacturing and Supply Planning regarding supply
      3. Customer Service regarding order timing and priority
  • Assist Supply Planning in maintaining important master data like Safety Stock setting and MTO/MTS status.
  • Assist in inventory management optimization, ensure target FG inventory levels are maintained at all sites.
  • Investigate forecast gaps and service failures.  Identify root causes and put in place corrective actions.  Revisit corrective actions to determine how impactful they were.




  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or a business-related field.  MBA preferred or 10+ years in related field.
  • 8+ years experience in a Purchasing/Planning Manager role with a minimum 2 years of  direct report management.
  • 5+ years experience import/export trade compliance.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet, database and presentation including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and understanding of MRP. SAP experience a plus. 
  • Proven team leader, able to work collaboratively at all levels and builds partnerships with cross-functional teams.  Exceptional written & verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning, influence, presentation and follow-up skills.
  • Self-motivated and must be persuasive in presenting ideas and managing their implementation.
  • This position can be remote based with a preference for Pennsylvania, New Jersey or Miami based candidates in order to have access to our HQ and other locations. Up to 10% travel is expected.
