Manager of Demand Planning


Reporting to the US Supply Chain Director, the Demand Planning Manager will be responsible for overseeing a rolling 24-month demand forecast for all Strategic Business Units (SBU) within Puratos USA. This individual integrates data from past sales, Finance, Sales and Marketing to create an accurate, item level forecast used for Operational and Financial planning. 



  1. Develop demand forecasting vision and doctrine; provide leadership to the extended supply chain planning team throughout Puratos USA.
  2. Lead the Demand Review meeting in the Integrated Business Planning process (S&OP).
  3. Own and maintain the Demand Forecast generated in SAP IBP.
  4. Monitor future Sales opportunities and likelihood of success.  Integrate these opportunities into the demand forecast to create a Most Likely Demand Forecast for Operational and Financial planning. 
  5. Report forecast accuracy and bias monthly.  Investigate forecast inaccuracies with Sales and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. 
  6. Assist in all Supply Chain KPI improvement efforts: service levels, inventory levels, inventory turns, cost reduction.
  7. Bring external demand planning insights to Puratos.  Understand and implement best demonstrated practices learned from peers, industry groups or Group Headquarters.
  8. Liaise with Group Headquarters on Group Demand Planning initiatives like implementing demand planning tools or reporting.
  9. Assist  Finance with building and validating the annual sales budget.
  10. Act as a people manager, directly developing existing demand planner and indirectly developing rising talent in the Supply Chain and Operations.





Success will be measured by key service and efficiency KPIs: primarily forecast accuracy and bias. Secondarily, service levels, NOTIF, inventory volume vs. target.     



  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain/Materials/Logistics management or business-related field.  MBA preferred.
  2. 5 years of supply chain experience, specifically in demand planning.  Supply planning or manufacturing experience a plus. 
  3. Proficient in spreadsheet, database and presentation including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of MRP. SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning) or APO (Advanced Planning and Optimization) experience.
  5. Exceptional written & verbal communication skills.
  6. Proven team player, able to work collaboratively at all levels and builds partnerships with cross-functional teams.
  7. Excellent organizational, planning, influence, presentation and follow-up skills.
  8. Self-motivated and must be persuasive in presenting ideas and managing their implementation.
  9. ASCM CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), IBP CPF (Certified Professional Forecaster) or other production and inventory management certification preferred.
