  • Annual pay for this position is based on skills and experience ranging from $80,000-135,000

Position Overview:

The Sales and Marketing Manager will lead our efforts in expanding market share, driving sales growth, and building brand awareness within the bakery ingredients industry. This role requires a strong background in sales and key account management, some experience in product marketing, and a deep understanding of the bakery sector.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership:

  • Develop and execute strategic commercial plans to achieve revenue and profit targets. Align plans with Puratos US business development leadership.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities: directly, through influence and key account plans with Puratos US business development team (BDT), and through management of key broker partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Coordinate with Puratos US BDT ensuring excellent joint communications.
    • Key Account Manager to large account(s).
    • Manage business at Pennant’s legacy customers via Puratos BDT, brokers, or directly.
    • Communicate pricing, product availability, and other tactical information as needed.
  • Act as primary commercial contact and conduit for Pennant subsidiary within the Puratos group.
    • Drive performance as a member of Pennant’s executive management team.
    • Lead Pennant commercial team.
    • Attend US and Puratos group meetings to present Pennant results and capture key strategic information to disseminate to Pennant management.
  • Provide leadership by setting clear goals and performance expectations.

Marketing Strategy:

  • Collaborate with Puratos US Marketing and Product Management teams.
    • Regularly review market data to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to grow market presence.
    • Support creation of compelling marketing collateral, including product catalogs, brochures, and digital content.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams from Pennant and Puratos to launch new products and promotions.
  • Lead portfolio management projects supported by Pennant commercial team.  

Product Knowledge:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, baking technologies, and ingredient innovations.
  • Position the company as an industry leader through in-depth knowledge of our product offerings.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the sales and marketing budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, sales metrics, and marketing ROI.
  • Own CRM data integrity and report on pipeline and other key customer data.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.

 

Competencies/Profile:

  • Education experience
    • Minimum – 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Work experience
    • Minimum – 3 years
    • Proven experience in sales and marketing roles within the bakery ingredients industry.

 

Prior Knowledge/Experience

  • Proven experience in sales and marketing roles within the bakery ingredients industry.
  • Strong understanding of baking processes and ingredient functionality.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
