Position Overview

Based at Mumbai, India location, in order to strengthen our Sales team we are currently seeking an:

Regional Sales Head - West

(Mumbai, India)

Reporting directly to the Director - Sales, the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible to ensure the making up of strategic plans, based upon sound market intelligence, for the assigned region, aimed at growing Puratos sales in a profitable way, leading to substantial shareholder value growth, all in line with the Group Strategy and with respect for Group values and policy

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Formulate, propose and help implement long and short-range plans, policies and programs for the area in line with the group policy and strategic vision of the Bakery, Confectionery and Chocolatier segments.
  • Make and achieve sales budgets, ensure compliance with the monthly budgeted targets ensure on-time receivables, ensure proper handling of complaints and distributor claims.
  • Daily sales management (from prospection to concluding) & support of the independent distributors and direct customers, in the assigned areas of operation
  • Support the formation and execution of a marketing plan in the entire region for promotion events, Customer Innovation Days, promotional offers, Pricing Strategy, etc.
  • Regularly travel in the region in order to develop the Puratos sales and implement the agreed Strategy.
  • To ensure expenses are in line with budgets as agreed.
  • Liaise with all required departments within Puratos India HQ and with staff for relevant matters (various local technical assistance or sourcing of specific products e.g.), and ensure a proper information flow and follow-up.
  • Ensure Market & competitive intelligence of the region assigned
  • Map and monitor competitors in the region
  • Customer Data Base: ensure region-wide implementation, follow-up exercise; analyses on segments & formulate recommendations on a strategy to the National Sales Manager.
  • Support of the Sales Director on specific ad-hoc questions, projects, analyses, preparation of strategic meetings
  • Search, analyze and propose merger and acquisition growth opportunities in accordance with corporate objectives and plans, and support their investigations, evaluations, negotiations, and integration.
  • Accountable for attracting, training, and developing top sales management/professionals and to ensure optimum level of workforce engagement.
  • Champions our Sales Effectiveness framework and drives teamwork culture and alignment to goals.
  • Oversees the establishment of metrics to assess, develop, and promote people.
  • Coaches and develops the sales team and defines career growth paths. Accountable for ensuring successors for key positions. Identities skills gaps and creates targeted developmental plans.

 

Profile

  • Any Graduate + MBA/PGDBM
  • Commercial experience in respective regions.
  • Good communication skills; commercial personality & negotiation skills
  • Strong determination to achieve results and grow sales
  • Open minded
  • Willing to travel extensively.
  • Good analytical skills and able to work in a structured and planned way
  • Excellent English language; knowledge of any regional languages are an asset
  • MS Office and presentation skills

 

Required Competencies

  • 4+ years of sales leadership experience in a Region /Zone
  • Experience with Strategic Pricing Systems and Tools
  • Sales Team management as Supervisor
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Value Based Selling.
  • Experience with large food service / Retail management companies
  • Knowledge of sales to food production & packaging.

Other

  • FMCG/ B2B food sales experience.
  • Experience working in the food ingredients industry
  • Knowledge of Bakery ingredient industry is helpful in the development and understanding of account needs
