Position Overview

In order to further strengthen our team in Poland and support implementation of Continuous Improvement Program – OpX Excellence based (WCM) we are searching for:

Manufacturing Process Engineer

 

Key Accountabilities

 

Coach on OpX Manufacturing implementation & deliver sustained results

  • Implement the processes & systems (based on Global OpX Standards) to measure, monitor and benchmark the current Manufacturing performance and to identify the most impactful  improvement opportunities i.e.:
    • Map the value stream to understand the process steps and identify non-value add (NVA) activities;
    •  Develop a representative baseline of past performance, e.g. Process efficiency and OEE;
    • Define Critical to Quality (CTQ) specifications and requirements for each product family;
    • Implement a loss reporting system to measure major causes of waste (NVA).
  • Ensure processes & systems are implemented and sustained to comply with all applicable legal regulations and international food safety standards: safety, working conditions environment, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Prerequisite Programs (PRP), British Retail Consortium (BRC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Halal, Kosher, allergens,….

 

Build Internal capabilities and empower Manufacturing Teams.

  • Define Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each process step:
    • Define safety standards and remove unnecessary tools and materials using 6S;
    • Develop procedures defining the repeatable steps and guidelines for each process step;
    • Define the Takt time and other performance standards for each process step;
  • Develop and implement visual management to identify process deviations at a glance:
    • Implement process confirmation checklists, e.g. safety and maintenance;
    • Implement process control charts for CTQ measures, e.g. run-time charts
    • Implement performance and problem solving boards for each team;
  • Ensure knowledge management is in place for the installations/processes within his/her span of control.
  • Be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC)  for the  Management Of Change (MOC) process in his/her production department.

 

Coach to establish & sustain Production Management System (PMS)

  • Coach daily team huddles and weekly problem solving meetings to improve effectiveness;
  • Establish, maintain & deliver the Performance Improvement Projects portfolio:
    • Identify and evaluate countermeasures and improvement initiatives to address root-cause issues and improve performance:
    • Quantify and prioritise biggest losses using Pareto analysis (total and frequency);
    • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with local teams to identify and eliminate  root cause issues;
    • Define countermeasures and implement improvement plans to implement required changes through the most effective standard method (DMAIC, Kaizen events, …)
    • Follow-up to measure improvements and adjust improvement plans as necessary;
    • Update standards, benchmarks, and targets incorporating sustainable improvements;
    • Update Standard Operating Procedures, Visual Management, benchmarks and targets;
  • Participate in Community of Practice (CoP) calls and share best-practices with other coaches on other departments and Puratos plants
  • Act as Single Point Of Contact (SPOC) for the Business Units (BUs) to ensure effective New Product Development and Product & Process Changes hand-over.

 

Required Competencies

  • Master’s degree in Science/Engineering.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in Food Manufacturing, ideally with Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence experience.
  • Fluent English and Polish
  • 5 % travelling
  • Change management & influencing - ability to engage people & drive improvements without formal authority
  • Effective communication & Emotional Intelligence - sharing best practices/results to empower the program
  • Driver for continuous improvement - challenge the status quo
  • Coaching & teaching skills
  • Lean Manufacturing methodologies knowledge - (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt – nice to have)
  • Basic Project Management Skills
