EHS Manager

MISSION

Develop, implement, and integrate programs to create and sustain a safe work environment in where serious injuries and accidents can be prevented in compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and requirements both at local and at Group level. The Safety Manager will support stakeholders to positively contribute to Health, Safety, Security and Well-being of people and planet by enabling a Culture of Caring.

The scope of the job is complex with multiple manufacturing sites, technical centers, distribution centers, and methods, as well as an extensive network of sales reps. The Manager will need to work both independently and with teams to meet business needs across the organization and contribute to help drive the overall business and HSE strategy.

KEY TASKS

  1. Be the contact person for HSE aspects for the legal entity.
  2. Ensures the development and effective implementation of appropriate Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures, benchmarked against ISO45001, ISO 14001 and ISO50001 and provide for their updating in line with the purpose, mission, vision, strategies and objectives identified at group level and in compliance with legislation.
  3. Initiate and influence integration of HSE policies and procedures into the business and oversee compliance using local dashboards and analytics.
  4. Run the risk assessment for the operations, warehouses, technical teams and sales. Ensure the risks are mitigated and with a plan for the risk elimination.
  5. Ensure that Safety CAPEX need are correctly addressed.
  6. Reporting/benchmarking: manage record/data keeping systems and statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans, conducting inspections and audits, providing Group level with the needed information.
  7. People development: Ensure effective education programs on HSE are in place increasing the sensitivity of the whole organization to good practices and implementing an effective communication.
  8. Provides technical support to senior management on any safety related issues.
  9. Provides HSE related input and validations into new projects and installations.
  10. Interface professionally with government officials in all areas of environment, health and safety.
  11. Define and lead execution of long range plan to our improve environmental performance (energy water efficiency). Build, maintain and coordinate an internal and external network of specialists.
  12. Develop a culture program to ensure a real leadership connection with safety.
  13. Lead the safety committee.
  14. Drive continuous improvement process for HSE methodology.
  15. Annual budget and monitoring of the monthly budget (for the operations and government requirements)
  16. Lead construction safety and 3rd party compliance (civil, electrical, mechanical, etc contractors)
  17. Lead internal waste management and government compliance.

 

Position profile

  1. Having a Bachelor or Master, a specialisation in HSE is a pro. Having  a Bachelor in engineering and/or some technical background is a pro.
  2. Minimum 8 years of experience as HSE responsible in an industrial environment.
  3. Being passionate about HSE and Sustainability.
  4. Resilient and good observer.

Competencies

  1. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Additional languages are a pro.
  2. Communication and influencing skills including decision making and problem solving skills.
  3. Having good analytical skills to collect select, structure combine and interpret data, being practical and detailed oriented.
  4. Ability to effectively interact with a diverse team of people of different levels of the organisation and outside (e.g. authorities, customers, etc.).
  5. Soft skills: autonomous, prioritizing, proactive, energetic, problem-solver, cooperative, curious
  6. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations outside (regulatory agencies)
  7. Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, e.g. ISO 14001, ISO5001 and ISO45001.
