Power Engineer (5th Class) - Industrial Millwright
LOCATION: Chilliwack
WAGE: $36.54/hr to start
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Power Engineer will assist with the overall maintenance and repairs of the equipment and building facility with the view of maintaining the highest level of food safety, personal safety and equipment efficiency.
The primary responsibility of the Power Engineer is to ensure the company assets (boiler, production equipment and facilities), are well maintained and operating in a safe mechanical manner. This position provides critical support in reducing production down time, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and effective troubleshooting of equipment.

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements
- Power Engineer (Class 5)
- Completed at least 2 years of apprenticeship in industrial mechanic/millwright program OR a combination of education, training and relevant experience.
- Industrial Millwright or Electrician trade qualification is an asset.
- Background in PLC programming and troubleshooting preferred.
- Proficiency using PMXPERT, PLC Data, is an asset.
- Knowledge of manufacturing/industrial equipment is an asset.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to communicate one-on-one and in group settings.
- Experience in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
- Proficient in MS Office and experience in SAP system is desirable
- Problem solver with good analytical skills and the ability to trouble shoot as the need arises. I.E. Equipment and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrates team approach, behaviors and interpersonal skills that contribute to a positive team and work environment.
- Maintains a clean safe work environment (Boiler room, Maintenance shop, Office, Yard)
- Organized in approach to work assignments, practices effective time management, prioritizes tasks, and able to move from one task to another efficiently and accurately.
- Physical strength and stamina to do maintenance and repair work.
- Proven record of safety.
- Reliability – an impeccable attendance record is crucial to the position.
