Start-up Project Manager

As our Start-up Business Development Manager you drive the business development of the new generation of plant based ingredients for creative chocolate and patisserie applications by providing expertise support and business opportunities to our commercial & technical teams in the subsidiaries as well as to our customers contributing both to their success and to our business plan 2022-2030.



Key Accountabilities:

  • You understand the market (products / customers / trends / competitors) in order to define with the BU the best brand positioning and activation plan to reach our yearly business ambitions. And segment customers to maximize penetration.
  • You create innovation full launch pack with a strong focus on impactful and differentiated on/ off line content
  • You define and execute together with the local business development teams a business plan with winning value based pricing strategy ensuring targeted sales growth in all channels (artisan, industry and retail)
  • In close collaboration with Sales, accelerate sales growth at targeted accounts by supporting existing projects or generating new customer projects through prospecting visits, presenting new solutions, networking in the industry or other means of generating interest from potential customers.  Create needed support material and follow-up personally some defined key strategic accounts for the category.   Up to 40% travel required.
  • You track and manage closely sales results , ongoing projects (CRM) and supply chain requirements (S&OP) in order to ensure optimum delivery of goods and services while working with all departments to remove potential hurdles in the sales process.  
  • You work closely with Linnolat R&D team to align on a product development strategy relevant for our customers and sustaining the growth plan.
  • You work closely with Operations team to implement a well-defined supply chain strategy (sourcing, production, pricing, transfer and export)
  • You leverage resources in the organization and create top-of-mind enthusiasm for the range across the organization to support the business growth of the category by 1/ further developing  the Business Development Teams and  2/  ensuring constant training and
  • You network actively internally and with key players in the market (institutes, customers, federations,…)  in order to generate awareness, business opportunities and feedback, relevant for the product category and its long term strategy (innovation ideas, trends, …) 


Who are we looking for?

  • You have a Master degree in food science or equivalent and great understanding of food ingredients and processes.
  • You have a passion for food and most importantly plant based food. You are interested in the latest trends and topics.
  • You have a great understanding of business/financial acumen and sets high results as standard. You asses sales numbers easily, interpret and report strengths & weaknesses by product/sales channel.
  • You show a good balance between creativity and data driven mindset. You understand the evolution of consumption.
  • You are a real team player and have excellent communication skills. You are ready to have interactions with internal and external stakeholders and create sustainable partnerships.
  • You are fluently in English (written/spoken). Knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.
  • You are willing to travel 40% of your time.
