Health & Safety Manager (m/w/d)

Your Mission

Your mission as a Health & Safety Manager is to develop, implement, and integrate programs to create and sustain a safe work environment in where serious injuries and accidents can be prevented in compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and requirements both at local and at Group level. The Safety Manager will support stakeholders to positively contribute to the Health, Safety, Security and Well-being of people and planet by enabling a Culture of Caring.

 

The scope of the job is complex with multiple manufacturing sites and methods, as well as an extensive network of sales reps. The Manager will need to work both independently and with teams to meet business needs across the organization and contribute to help drive the overall business and HSE strategy.

What you will do

  • Be the contact person for HSE aspects for the legal entity
  • Ensure the development and effective implementation of appropriate Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures, benchmarked against ISO45001, ISO 14001 and ISO50001 and provide for their updating in line with the purpose, mission, vision, strategies and objectives identified at group level and in compliance with legislation
  • Initiate and influence the integration of HSE policies and procedures into the business and oversee compliance using local dashboards and analytics
  • Reporting/benchmarking: managing record/data keeping systems and statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans, conducting inspections and audits, providing Group level with the needed information
  • People development: ensuring effective education programs on HSE are in place increasing the sensitivity of the whole organization to good practices and implementing an effective communication
  • Provide technical support to senior management on any safety-related issues
  • Provide HSE related input and validations for new projects and installations
  • Interface professionally with government officials in all areas of environment, health and safety
  • Define and lead the execution of a long-range plan to improve our environmental performance (energy water efficiency). Build, maintain and coordinate an internal and external network of specialists

 

What we expect from you

  • Having a bachelor’s or master’s degree, a specialization in HSE is a plus. Having a bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or some technical background is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as HSE responsible in an industrial environment
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written). Additional languages are a plus
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse team of people at different levels of the organization and outside (e.g., authorities, customers, etc.)
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations outside the organization (regulatory agencies)
  • Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, e.g., ISO 14001, ISO5001 and ISO45001
  • Having good analytical skills to collect, select, structure, combine and interpret data, being practical and detail-oriented
  • Soft skills: autonomous, prioritizing, proactive, energetic, problem-solver, communication and influencing skills, including decision making, cooperative, curious, resilient, and a good observer
  • Being passionate about HSE and sustainability
