Position Overview
A reliable and safety-focused warehouse professional responsible for inventory movement, material staging, shipping, receiving, and forklift operations within a food manufacturing environment. This role supports production and distribution activities by ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient trailer loading and unloading, proper product rotation, and compliance with GMP, food safety, and workplace safety standards.
The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to safely operate material handling equipment while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting daily operational goals.
Primary Responsibilities
• Inspect forklift prior to use. Check general condition and battery charge.
• Load pallet dispenser and slip-sheets.
• Stage packaging materials for the production runs.
• Pull product from warehouse or staging area, check orders, load trailers per pick/pull sheets.
• Record batch/lot codes and amount pulled on pick/pull sheet.
• Ensure that each pallet is logged prior to going in the warehouse or on a trailer.
• Observe and follow FEFO- first expiring, first out rule.
• Check in and sign out drivers; give them the proper paperwork.
• Loading and unloading of pallet trailers and transfer trailers.
• Help with inbound raw material deliveries when shorthanded.
• Ability to stack pallets of finished goods and raw materials and build mixed pallets when needed.
• Keep warehouse clean and organized, including sweeping and other simple cleaning tasks.
• Help with daily, monthly, and yearly inventory counts when needed.
• Understand and adhere to safe working practices and ergonomics programs.
• Understand and adhere to company GMP and food safety programs.
• Overtime hours may be required based on work demand. Employee must be flexible with these hours.
Prior Knowledge/Experience
• 1-3 years forklift experience
• HS Diploma or GED
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic math skills, and ability to consistently read and record alphanumeric codes.
• Computer knowledge: basics skills/usage. SAP experience preferred.
• Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members, other employees, and truck drivers.
Compensation
• Hourly compensation for this position is based on skills and experience, ranging from $19.00 - $23.00
