Position Summary

The Maintenance Planner ensures reliable operation of plant equipment by planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities while also fulfilling expanded parts and inventory responsibilities. As a Pennant team member, the candidate ensure safety and food safety is a condition and drive manufacturing operational improvements. Furthermore, the candidate must embrace and support the building operations.

 

Required Competencies

  • Manage maintenance parts inventory including ordering, receiving, labeling, storage, and documentation.
  • Receive and enter all parts into MaintainX, including quantities and storage locations.
  • Perform quarterly cycle counts and reconcile variances.
  • Maintain and update BOMs and preventive maintenance plans in MaintainX.
  • Conduct routine MaintainX audits to verify PM completion accuracy and documentation.
  • Attend shift changeover meetings for daily alignment.
  • Participate in weekly maintenance huddles.
  • Join quarterly KPI and past-due work order reviews.
  • Coordinate with production and supply chain.
  • Create and add new assets in MaintainX for new or upgraded equipment.
  • Develop SOPs (standard operating procedures) for new, upgraded, or modified equipment.
  • Contact vendors and assist with planned contractor work orders, scheduling, communication, and processing requisitions.

 

Required Education / Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and OEM documentation.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP PM, MaintainX preferred).
  • Understanding of inventory control practices and spare parts management.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Working knowledge of safety programs and OSHA maintenance-related requirements.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Overtime hours may be required based on work demand. Employee must be flexible with these hours.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects over 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee at times can be exposed to flour/sugar dust particles.  The dust levels in the work environment can sometimes be elevated.  If needed, proper PPE is provided.
  • Noise levels in some plant locations are loud.
  • The employee may spend 75% or more of their work hours on the plant floor.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, stoop, walk and lift throughout the shift.
  • GMPs require hair nets, beard nets to be worn on production areas.
  • Uniforms and safety shoes will be provided along with any other specific required PPE.

 

Compensation

  • Hourly compensation for this position is based on skills and experience, ranging from $30.00 - $42.00
