Role Description
The Pricing Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring Puratos Canada maintains competitive, profitable, and customer‑aligned pricing across all product categories manufactured at the Richmond site.
This role is responsible for:
- In collaboration with Commercial Finance Manager, co-lead the price change strategy and ongoing margin improvement initiatives
- Managing price lists, quotes, profitability analysis, and pricing scenarios
- Supporting Sales, Finance, Product Management, and the Richmond GM with decision‑ready insights
- Manage the budget to oversee volume, revenue, and margin targets.
This position requires strong analytical rigor, financial acumen, attention to detail, and cross‑functional communication skills.
Mandate
- Ensure compliance with all local, national, and corporate environmental, health and safety rules and regulations.
- Comply with all local and national food safety and legal requirements.
- Perform all job responsibilities under the strictest consideration of health and safety, food quality and production parameters.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Pricing Management & Margin Optimization
- Lead the end‑to‑end pricing process for the Richmond portfolio.
- Build and maintain pricing models incorporating cost changes (ingredients, packaging, labour, FX, freight, overhead).
- Conduct margin and profitability analysis by customer, SKU, channel, and business unit.
- Partner with Sales on pricing proposals, customer quotes, and contract renewals.
- Support ongoing pricing changes, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
- Support pricing scenario modelling for new product launches, reformulations, and customer onboarding.
- Monitor cost evolution and recommend pricing actions to protect margins.
- Maintain pricing governance, version control, and audit‑readiness of pricing files.
2. Business & Financial Analytics
- Develop the yearly budget, including projections for volume, revenue, and margin.
- Provide weekly/monthly reporting on revenue, margin, volumes, mix impacts, and pricing performance.
- Develop dashboards and tools to improve visibility of pricing trends and commercial KPIs.
3. Tools, Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain and improve pricing templates, models, trackers, and databases.
- Support the transition toward more automated pricing tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP pricing modules).
- Identify opportunities to streamline pricing workflows and eliminate manual inefficiencies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in pricing, finance, business analytics, category management, or similar role.
- Experience in commodity, food manufacturing, CPG, ingredients, or industrial products is an asset.
- Strong understanding of cost, margin, and pricing analysis.
- Experience working cross‑functionally with Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain teams. Demonstrates the capability to effectively collaborate with various internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in advanced Excel, experienced with SAP, and possess strong analytical skills; familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong business acumen with understanding of financial statements and cost structures.
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and comfort with numerical analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex pricing concepts for non‑technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Proactive, solutions‑oriented, and comfortable challenging assumptions to protect profitability.

- This position offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including a salary range of $72,000 to $108,000, an annual target bonus of 7%, full benefits, and an initial allocation of 15 vacation days per year.
