Quality Manager / QA & QC Manager

(Pernik, Bulgaria)

 

 

About the role

Coordinates all activities in managing quality control of raw materials and finished products from a physico-chemical point of view, ensures the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system according to GFSI quality standards and leads the HCCP team. Ensure overall site compliance with international and group rules. This role is part of the Puratos Bulgaria team, located in Pernik. The Puratos factory in Pernik produces high-quality sourdough as well as various mixes and premixes used in the bakery and confectionery industry.

 

 

Main responsibilities

  • Leads the QA and QC team and ensures achievement of the team KPI’s at the standard level required for this role
  • Ensures implementation, certification and maintenance of a quality standard according to GFSI/group requirements
  • Ensures the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system according to the requirements of the applied standard
  • Ensures the development and maintenance of documentation regarding the quality management system
  • Supervises the development of system procedures according to the requirements of the quality standard
  • Elaborates and implements procedures, policies and work instructions according to the requirements of the implemented quality standard
  • Develops all the plans and projects to guarantee the quality standards of the raw materials and products manufactured in the production facility
  • Ensures permanent analysis of the functioning of the quality management system, quality policy and objectives and informs the management team on the results of these analyzes
  • In charge with the development and monitoring of the implementation and compliance with the system procedures, procedures and work instructions specific to the processes identified according to the certified standard
  • Constantly updates its knowledge of legislation in the field of quality control and assurance and deals with the transposition of legislative requirements into the documents of the quality management system
  • Ensures compliance with the rules of G.M.P. (Rules of Hygiene and Good Practice in Production)
  • Actively participates in the audits carried out by the food safety control institutions and the certification of quality standards
  • Ensures the annual obtaining of the Sanitary Operating Authorization for the water used in production and acts pro-actively in case the water quality level deteriorates in order to find solutions to ensure the continuity of the production flow
  • Constantly updates the documentation necessary for registration with the laboratory's competent institutions, according to the requirements of the legislation in force
  • Constantly updates the documentation necessary for the registration of freight vehicles with the competent institutions
  • Requires suppliers to comply with the EUDR Regulation and provides backup solutions in case they are non-compliant
  • Oversees the development of the annual internal audit program
  • Receives the proposal of the members of the internal audit team and ensures that the measures of the audit report are implemented
  • Ensures the supervision of the activity related to quality: reception of raw materials and materials, technological processes and the activity of the staff of the Physicochemical Analysis Laboratory
  • Ensure the supervision of non-compliant products and the establishment of corrections and corrective actions together with the Production Manager and the Product Development Manager
  • Verifies the receipt, supervision and monitoring of customer complaints and the reporting of performance indicators to the group
  • adopts the maintenance, verification and recording of receipts and sales of raw materials used in production; is in charge of establishing the internal audit team to verify the quality requirements
  • In charge with the verification and maintenance of RFA certification for MB cocoa in the Rainforest Alliance platform; Multi-Trace confirmation of receipts of MB cocoa and RFA-certified products
  • Constantly updates HACCP manual
  • Ensures the updating of quality training programs and internal staff training

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Completed higher education: food industry, biochemistry, chemistry – physics, industrial chemistry, technical
  • Holds certifications regarding the requirements of one of the GFSI standards - minimum FSSC 22000 vers 6
  • Experience in a QA QC position of at least 5 years
  • Good knowledge of using software systems - MS Office (mandatory) and SAP (nice to have)
  • Category B driving license
  • English knowledge at B2 (upper Intermediate) level
