POSITION OVERVIEW

Based in the Eastern Cape Region to further strengthen our local sales team team, we are currently seeking a:

TECHNICAL ADVISOR SENIOR – (Eastern Cape, South Africa

Reporting directly to the CTS Manager, the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible for:

• Deliver expert technical support and innovative product solutions aligned with customer needs and market trends
• Drive business growth and customer satisfaction through high-quality demonstrations, training, and finished product development.
•  Translate product strategy into practical applications that enhance customer performance and differentiate the business.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Technical Expertise & Product Development

• Execute advanced technical tasks independently
• Apply deep knowledge of ingredients, process, and equipment
• Develop innovative, high-quality finished goods aligned with trends
• Ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards
• Contribute to product development and improvements
• participate in regional/global technical networks

2. Customer Engagement & Demonstrations

• Deliver tailored demonstrations aligned with customer needs
• Clearly communicate product benefits and applications
• Build strong, solution-driven customer relationships
• Lead engagements with key/strategic customers
• Influence customer decisions through storytelling and expertise
• Document customer interactions and insights

3. Training & Knowledge sharing

• Deliver training to customers and internal teams
• Share best practices, recipes, and technical knowledge
• Act as subject matter experts in key technologies
• Support development of junior team members
• Contribute to training materials and knowledge systems

4. Innovation Centre Management

• Maintain Innovation Centre standards using 5S principles
• Ensure effiecient, high-quality demonstrations
• Support continuos improvement of tools and processes
• Collabrate with equipment partners to maintain technology standards
• Track and contribute to KPI data

5. Collaboration & Business Support

• Work closely with Sales, Markerting, and R&D
• Support events, product launches, and customer opportunities
• Contribute technical input to product development and positioning
• Identify trends and develop future product concepts

PROFILE

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Driver’s License
• Sleep away from home
• Minimum of 8 years as a baker and confectioner, of which at least 3 years was in a supervisory role (managerial role advantageous); B2B is an advantage; food sector (FMCG market) is an advantage; must have worked as a Technical Advisor – Junior within the Company for at least one year; knowledge of Chipkins Puratos products and customers thereof
• Computer literacy: MS Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Good communication skills - English is a prerequisite - ability to read and write; additional language(s) an advantage.
• Good administrative Skills & Attention to details
• Over and above normal working hours, occasional overtime is required

OTHER SKILLS

• The ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
• An ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Self-motivated and independent
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) skills.
• Knowledge of Computer packages/Technology to capture and enhance delivery of training or communication material.
