The Senior Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the maintenance team. They will promote a strong safety culture while leveraging diagnostic and technical skills to maximize efficiency and output of plant machinery and equipment for the manufacturing facility. They will partner closely with the production team to do preventative maintenance work and identify potential issues with equipment. Responsible for the site utilities & manufacturing equipment maintenance with theoverall goal of improving productivity, food safety systems, overall plant reliability while minimizing labor and overhead costs. Manage and collaborate with cross-functional team and insure the highest levels of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in all maintenance project work. 

 

Location: Pennsauken, NJ – On-site 

 

What You Bring:   At least 5 years of maintenance leadership experience ideally in the food industry and hand-ons experience with preventative maintenance, optimization of CMMS systems and being a key player with plant capital projects.  

 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the maintenance team

  • Foster a continuous improvement environment for problem resolution by analyzing data; investigating the root cause of issues; identifying solutions; recommending action(s) to improve equipment reliability 

  • Manage maintenance requests and work orders, assigning work orders to the mechanic technicians 

  • Responsible for delivering on metrics such as schedule attainment, PM attainment, backlog, budget, OEE downtime improvements 

  • Evaluate and document operations, work area design, process flow and work methods for improved efficiency 

  • Manage and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors 

  • Lead and optimize the plant CMMS system in the effort of tracking maintenance work, automatically generating preventative maintenance requests and ensure the system works in compliance with quality standards and plant procedures 

  • Develop, maintain, and implement departmental procedures in compliance with SQF 

  • Identify critical spare parts, assist with spare parts ordering process and inventory 

  • Key contributor for plant capital projects 

  • Identify department training needs and develop training programs to fill the gaps. Utilize OEM resources to coordinate equipment-specific training 

  • Ensure government compliance (wastewater discharge, equipment certification, storm water) 

  • Manage and maintain the utilities (air compressor, air dryer, water softener, boiler, steam generator, clarifier, cooling units, etc.) 

  • Manage required utility measurements (chemical measurements, pressure monitoring, etc.) and act when any deviation occurs 

  • Monitor team member productivity and delivery regular feedback and performance assessments 

  • Proficiently manage the budgeted cost lines including labor, supplies, materials, in their corresponding software and ERP systems 

 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance leadership experience, with preference in the food (FDA regulated environment) industry 

  • Experience leading a maintenance team in a manufacturing environment 

  • Must be proficient with using computer systems and can learn maintenance software applications (SAP) 

  • Strong planning and execution skills 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment 

  • Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 55 lbs (occasionally up to 75 lbs), and occasional climbing, kneeling, and crawling. 

  • Environmental conditions may include working at heights, exposure to machinery, noise, extreme temperatures, dust, and fumes.

Compensation: 

  • Compensation for this role is salary and will be based on your experience, skills, and location, with a typical salary range between $75,000 - $107,813/year. 

  • This role is eligible for a targeted annual bonus equal to 10%. Final bonus payouts are determined by both individual and company performance.
