The Quality Supervisor ensures the efficient and timely release of all raw materials and finished products according to defined testing parameters. Works cross-functionally with Production, Customer Service and Quality Team to problem solve and provide support as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Overview or Execute Inspections and RCA Quality Reporting of raw material, semi-finished, and finished products.
- Facilitate investigation on customer complaints and nonconformities for a range of products/production lines, interfacing with all parties involved.
- Lead and perform root cause analysis, propose CAPA, and facilitate the definition of corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure appropriate actions are performed and documented to properly close the non-conformity
- Quality Reporting, including compiling all data for monthly Performance Reporting
- Issue intermediate (if required) and final reports to appropriate salesperson in a timely manner to guarantee a positive customer experience
- Holds analysis
- Report CAPA progress and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) weekly and raise any red flags that need to be addressed by Quality management or Production management
- Food Safety
- Identify food safety issues and take immediate action as defined by Quality procedures, in coordination with the Quality Manager
- Daily and weekly verifications that monitoring controls by operators and production are executed according to SOP, including the application and records of the Sanitation SOPs and SSOPs
- Verification of the application and records of the HACCP plan and the allergen program
- Supervise, lead, and develop team of Quality Technicians dedicated to specific production lines
- Validate working hours of reporting Quality Technicians
- Organize task and priorities of direct reports,
- Collaborate actively with functional partners, and inform, align on actions
Prior Knowledge/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree within Food Science or Food Science/Technology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance in manufacturing and within the food industry
- HACCP Certified
- PCQI and SQF experience a plus
- Experience with Six Sigma, Fishbone, 5S
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
