Become our Global Graduate Trainee in R&D Bakery Improvers & Mixers for our rapidly growing, global team!
Over the course of our 3-year Graduate Trainee program, you have the opportunity to take part in 3 annual rotations within our Research & Development Bakery Improvers & Mixes department in our USA HQ and with an international assignment (+/- 1-year foreign experience).
This position is targeted to start in January, 2026.
YEAR 1: Pennsauken, NJ - Deep-Dive into the R&D Bakery World in Puratos USA HQ
- Complete an introductory RAP (Recipe, Additive, Process program) to familiarize yourself with industrial bakery formulation basics.
- Transition more fully into innovation and project-oriented work in the R&D bakery to design and experiment with different bakery improvers and mixes. From preparing and conducting trials to documenting insights.
- Analyze results, draw meaningful conclusions, and recommend actions to shape the future of bakery mixers and improvers.
- Transform your findings into compelling formats and share them with our global R&D community.
- Work closely with inter-/intradepartmental Applied R&D and Application Specialists in our Innovation Centers to become familiar with industrial lines and customer’s projects.
YEAR 2: Puratos Group Assignment - Belgium R&D Team
- Embark on an international assignment in Belgium with an innovative market.
- Continue targeted analyses and work with international teams on all areas of innovation including soft, fresh and frozen markets.
- Aim to elevate your work by implementation and development of innovations.
YEAR 3: Puratos USA, West Coast (Los Angeles, CA Area) as an Application Specialist
- Embark on an assignment in our California Innovation Center with a vibrant food innovation market
- Assist in trouble shooting at customer locations, development & implementation of new products and concepts on industrial lines.
- Provide support to Sales team through active business development and relationship building with customers.
As an ideal candidate for our Global Graduate Trainee program, you will possess:
- A University Degree with excellent academic track record in Food Science' you will either be in your final year of University study, or have graduated within the past 18 month
- Previous work or internship experience, preferably in the Food, FMCG or in a similar industry
- Drive for innovation, teamwork, flexibility and achievement orientation
- Engagement and passion for the Food industry
- Be fully mobile to work in different global business areas/ locations
- Be fully business-fluent in English (other languages are advantageous)
- Strength in Excel/Powerpoint, and an adaptable mindset towards using AI and database platforms

Compensation:
- Compensation for this role is salaried and will be based on your experience, skills, and location, with a typical hourly range between $59,840 and $70,200.
- This role is eligible for a targeted annual bonus equal to 5%. Final bonus payouts are determined by both individual and company performance.
