The Boiler Mechanic is primarily responsible for the operation of boiler and nearby utilities in Puratos USA factory locations. This role performs daily rounds to inspect and record data of all departmental equipment in order to assure safe operation in compliance with all relevant state regulations.
12 Hour Shifts: 12pm - 12am, 2-2-3 schedule
Primary Responsibilities
- Focus on steam, compressed air, wastewater, and other mechanical/electrical duties within the maintenance area as assigned
- Ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the Utilities Department, including but not limited to boiler, chiller, and thermal systems and their accessories, hot water systems, water softeners, and all pump components related to the boiler and chiller systems
- Adhere to all training, PPE, GMP, and other requirements
- Inspect equipment on a regular basis
- Determine and implement technical solutions
- Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges; record readings and operational data
- Perform regular maintenance on equipment; record activities in SAP
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the maintenance/boiler area and its surroundings
- Maintain spare parts and consumable parts inventory
- Respond to alarms and equipment failure, notification, and documentation
- Other duties may be assigned by management team
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid New Jersey Black Seal license for boiler operation and maintenance; up to 500 hp
- At least 3 years related work experience
- or 6+ months in an industrial maintenance related role
- Fundamental understanding of boiler operations required
- Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other mechanical systems
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support utility and mechanical needs
- Ability to conduct multi-task work in a very fast paced work environment
- Physical Requirements: Frequently lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs
- Environmental Conditions: Frequent exposure to uneven ground, excessive noise, working at heights, dust/fumes, hazards, and machinery; occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and biohazards

- Compensation for this role is hourly and will be based on your experience, skills, and location, with a typical hourly range between $30.50 and $35.10.
- This role is eligible for a targeted annual bonus equal to $3500. Final bonus payouts are determined by both individual and company performance.
