As Puratos in Canada continues its growth journey across the country, we are in search of hiring the following position for our Richmond (BC)/Mississauga (ON) Location:
Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A Finance Operations
(Can be located in British Columbia or Ontario)
Your Mission
Puratos Canada is expanding its Finance Operations team to deepen costing rigor and analytical support across our three manufacturing plants — Mississauga (ON), Fraser Valley (BC), and Richmond (BC). The Senior Financial Analyst is the operational and costing backbone of the team, owning daily and month-end costing, standard-versus-actual analysis, and plant-level reporting, while partnering closely with the Finance Operations Manager and plant teams to turn raw operational data into decisions. This is a hands-on, SAP-intensive role for someone who wants to own the numbers behind a food manufacturing business and grow into a broader business-partnering mandate. Candidate can reside in either Ontario (based out of th Mississauga Office), or in British Columbia (based out of the Richmond or Chilliwack BC Office)
What you will do
- OPEX deep-dives: review operating expenses (freight, storage, utilities, repairs & maintenance, travel/OOE), investigate climbing costs, and flag root causes.
- Monthly forecasting: support detailed forecasting that draws the right KPIs from projected volume rather than high-level estimates.
- Annual budget: support the build of a realistic, plant-specific budget, including plant P&Ls to assess true profitability.
- Cost forecasting: support production and distribution cost forecasting at a detailed, plant-specific level.
- Variance analysis: build forward-looking variance analysis tying cost movements to volume, mix, and operational drivers.
- Cost savings: support cost-saving initiatives and hold departments accountable to their budgets.
- Daily costing: own daily costing requirements, including standard cost setup and review for new item creations.
- Standard vs. actual: review monthly, flag items materially exceeding standard, and raise with operations, procurement and pricing teams.
- Routing reviews: assess and adjust routings for top products so true costs are accurately reflected.
- SAP data: pull and segregate SAP data by plant, since consolidated tools will not break results out by site.
- P&Ls in Power BI: build and maintain Plant and Customer P&Ls with correct cost allocation to assess true profitability.
- Biweekly reporting: produce a biweekly production-expense report so operations can course-correct within the month.
- Working capital: support AR, AP, and inventory analysis and inventory days / level target-setting.
What we expect from you
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA (or in progress) preferred.
- 2+ years in cost accounting or financial analysis, ideally in manufacturing (food / CPG a strong asset).
- Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable owning month-end/review deliverables.
- Advanced Excel / financial modeling skills. Power BI proficiency preferred.
- Strong communicator able to business-partner with plant operations and non-finance stakeholders.
- Hands-on SAP experience required.
What you can expect from Puratos
- Competitive salary, bonus and benefits (Salary Range $75,000 - $85,000 per yr based on experience)
- Rewarding career and growth potential worldwide
- Challenges in an excellent international company
- Fast pace and dynamic working environment
- Continuous training in management and business principles
- Be an integral part of a successful global company
- Hybrid working environment requiring 3 days in office
