QA & HACCP Coordinator
Your Mission
The QA & HACCP Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring our customers are always top of mind with the ultimate goal of achieving the highest possible service level. We will achieve this at the lowest possible cost while never compromising food and employee safety. This position will support Puratos by being the highest quality supplier of bakery & patisserie mixes, glazes, fillings and toppings in Canada. This position is responsible for food safety, integrity, legality, and quality as well as complying with all local and national food safety and legal requirements
What you will do
- Manage all non-conformities on raw materials and finished goods. Generate holds and recommend NC product dispositions. Lead the Root Cause Analysis process and follow up for internal deviations observed.
- Resolve customer/supplier complaints in a timely manner utilizing root cause analysis and other continuous improvement initiatives. Communicate with customers utilizing a customer-oriented communication. Maintain complaints and generate trend analysis reports.
- Manage internal audits monthly and conduct weekly inspections.
- Follow up the verification schedule containing all the operational controls associated to the Food Safety and Quality Programs.
- Assist with external food safety and quality audits.
- Lead the development and delivery of Food Safety and Quality training for manufacturing and support teams.
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of the HACCP / food safety program and certifications.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Identify areas of improvement where applicable to improve food safety and product quality.
- Assist with the selection, qualification and verification activities of new/existing suppliers and service providers.
- Provide customer with specification, nutritional, allergen, kosher certificates & GMO information.
- Work closely with Pest Control service provider to prevent and control any pest activity. Conduct quarterly review of pest control program.
- Conduct mock recalls and other traceability activities as required.
- Review and verify food safety records.
- Keep updated the Procedures Master List and Quality Manual.
- Back up for Senior Quality Specialist and QC technician as required.
- Other related duties and responsibilities assigned by Senior Quality Specialist.
What we expect from you
- Post-secondary degree in a science related field (Microbiology, food science, biotechnology or other related disciplines) or equivalent of education and work experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with managers, supervisors and production floor employees.
- Capable to organize, plan and execute tasks reliably and independently, with minimum supervision.
- Strong problem solving, organization and analytical skills. Detail oriented and Hands on.
- Knowledge of BRC/HACCP principles is required
- Proficient in MS Office and SA
