Join our dynamic team as a Research Lab Expert Baking and immerse yourself in a world of delightful creations. As a Research Lab Expert in the Test Bakery, you will play a key role in supporting R&D projects by conducting bakery and patisserie trials, driving innovation, and ensuring high-quality testing and reporting.
You will have the chance to explore and experiment with an array of delicious ingredients, shaping the future of bakery and pastry products.
Key Accountabilities
· You explore new ingredients in a diverse range of bakery and pastry products, including bread, baguette, croissant, cake, and more.
· Conduct Baking Tests (Bakery & Patisserie): You plan, execute, and evaluate baking trials with precision and consistency. Provide expert insights, challenge test requests, and deliver detailed reports with improvement recommendations.
· Project involvement : you act as an autonomous project team member, designing test plans (ingredients, processes), interpreting results with conclusion on test series
· Planning Patisserie Trials & Digitalisation: you coordinate pastry trials and lead digitalisation efforts within the Test Center, supporting implementation across teams
· Bakery Maintenance & Equipment Management: You ensure the functionality of bakery equipment, manage supplier contacts, and support procurement of materials and tools.
· Training: you will proactively explore training in order to improve your skills, (new baking technologies, new evaluation methods, knowledge about the effect of ingredients and additives on properties of baked products,..) and share your knowledge across teams
Who are we looking for?
· You have completed a bachelor degree in food chemistry, food technology or nutrition and dietetics or a baker's program with relevant experience (R&D, food technology).
· Knowledge in baking technology (effect of ingredients, evaluation of multiple options,..) and texture measurement
· You are well organized and flexible and you like to work in a team. You have a real interest in the baking process and new technologies in the bakery/pastry sector.
· You work extremely accurately and systematically and you are familiar with current PC applications (Word and Excel).
· A good knowledge of English is important for internal communication and reporting. In addition, knowledge of Dutch and / or French is a plus.
