R&D Manager Bakery Emulsifiers
Your Mission
As R&D Manager Bakery Emulsifiers, you play a key role in driving the development and optimization of emulsifier, paste improver, and liquid improver solutions. You provide technical expertise and global support to internal teams and customers, translating needs into robust, compliant, and scalable solutions. By combining hands-on product ownership with close cross-functional collaboration, you help improve performance, cost-efficiency, and sustainability across the portfolio. Your work directly contributes to product quality, innovation, and business growth.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the development, optimization, and adaptation of emulsifier, paste improver, and liquid improver solutions, improving product performance while balancing cost-efficiency and sustainability.
- Act as the technical contact point for emulsifier-related questions across the group, supporting subsidiaries and customers with practical expertise and fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Contribute to new product development and product launches, while maintaining a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and market technical needs.
- Monitor relevant regulations impacting emulsifiers and finished products, and ensure technical compliance through close collaboration with the appropriate stakeholders.
- Work closely with Operations, Process Improvement, QC, QA, Engineering, and Purchasing to manage product quality, select raw materials, and support production and scale-up activities.
- Prepare and follow up CAPEX-related plans with Engineering and support the production of fat-based liquid and paste improvers in collaboration with production and sales teams.
- Ensure technical product data is accurate and up to date, safeguard the confidentiality of formulas and know-how, and deliver training to local R&D, Marketing, and Sales teams on the use of emulsifiers in application
Who are we looking for?
- You hold a Master’s degree in Bioscience Engineering, Chemistry, or a similar scientific discipline, or you bring an equivalent level through relevant experience, combined with a strong interest in chemistry.
- You have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience and bring solid technical and hands-on expertise within an R&D environment.
- You combine an entrepreneurial and agile mindset with strong analytical skills and a practical approach to solving technical challenges.
- You communicate clearly and effectively, know how to listen, collaborate, and build networks across functions and cultures; experience in people management is a plus.
- You are customer centric and understand how to translate technical market needs into relevant and feasible product solutions.
- You are eager to grow your career in an international and dynamic environment and are comfortable working closely with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders.
- You are fluent in English and have at least a basic knowledge of French; any additional language is a plus, and you are willing to travel globally (around 10%).
