As a Project Engineer within Group Engineering at Puratos, you support the execution of capital and improvement projects that enhance the performance of our global production network. You deliver technically sound, safe and cost‑efficient engineering solutions in compliance with food industry regulations and Group standards. Partnering with local teams, you bridge business requirements and engineering design. Through cross‑site collaboration and structured knowledge sharing, you contribute to the continuous development of engineering capabilities across the Group.
Key Accountabilities
- Support and execute CAPEX and improvement projects from feasibility through commissioning and handover.
- Contribute to concept development, feasibility studies, cost estimates and basic engineering design (layouts, PFDs, P&IDs, utilities, hygienic design).
- Ensure compliance with Group engineering standards, HSE requirements, ESG principles and applicable food industry regulations.
- Support procurement activities by preparing RFQs, evaluating technical offers and collaborating with Group CAPEX Purchasing.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and engineering partners during detailed design, FAT/SAT, installation and start‑up phases.
- Provide on‑site support during critical project phases and ensure smooth handover to local operational teams.
- Coach and support local teams through technical assistance, troubleshooting and sharing of best practices across sites.
Who are we looking for?
- Master’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Bio‑engineering, Food Technology or equivalent).
- 5–10 years of experience in engineering, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
- Broad expertise across the following areas is desirable, with strong capabilities in several domains and readiness to further develop others:
- Aseptic processing, fermentation, CIP.
- Liquid and powder processing: mixing, separation, heat transfer, conveying, drying, packaging.
- Plant utilities and building services: process water, cooling systems, electricity, compressed air, steam, wastewater treatment, HVAC.
- Ability to read and develop P&IDs.
- Familiarity with Siemens automation systems (Simatic Batch, PCS7).
- Understanding of project management methodologies and the typical project lifecycle.
- Basic financial awareness (P&L, cash flow, cost of capital, IRR, NPV, payback).
- Fluent in English; other languages are an asset.
- Willingness to travel internationally (around 30%)
