If so, our 3-year Graduate Trainee Program in Belgian Operations is your launchpad to success!
What You Can Expect
As a Graduate Trainee, you’ll embark on a comprehensive journey through 3 annual rotations across our operational departments (production, supply chain, quality, and more) and this within our 5 Belgian sites.
Depending on your skills, aspirations, and the business needs, you’ll tackle real-life challenges and take on responsibilities that will shape your management abilities and operational expertise.
Your first year offers three unique opportunities at different sites:
- Area Production Manager - Saint-Vith:
Ensure that the Area for which you are responsible works in accordance with the requirements (Quality, Safety, quantity, deadline, etc.):
- Lead, develop, and support a production area with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in supply chain, quality, and R&D.
- Implement new projects and products, taking the lead on process improvements.
- Manage budgets and develop strategies to optimize production.
- Reliability & Equipment Engineer - Erembodegem (Chocolate factory):
- Solve complex equipment problems, provide hands-on support, and increase equipment efficiency.
- Collect and analyze data to drive long-term improvements and reduce downtime.
- Manage projects from design to implementation, ensuring smooth collaboration with contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Maintenance Engineer – Andenne
- Act as a relay between maintenance and other departments to prepare and plan the maintenance work in the best possible way. Implement a robust process to achieve this.
- Act as the “technical” owner for production equipment.
- Provide complete work preparation (tasks to be performed, materials and resources required, as well as safety instructions.
- Plan work requests so that they can be completed by the technicians efficiently.
- Manage small CAPEX investment projects from design to implementation.
In your second and third year, you’ll be exposed to diverse areas such as Supply Chain, Engineering, Group Quality, and HSE, across various Belgian production sites, preparing you to step into future leadership roles.

Who are we looking for?
- Master’s degree in engineering (Bio, industrial, electromechanical, civil engineering), Food Science, food processing, production processes, with an outstanding academic record.
- Recent graduate (within 12-18 months) or in the final year of your studies (more experienced candidates are welcome to apply to other roles at Puratos via our careers page).
- A first work or internship experience, preferably in the Food, FMCG or in a similar industry.
- Engagement and passion for the food industry and a genuine drive to learn and grow.
- Team player with excellent communication and leadership potential.
- Fluent in English and French or Dutch.
- Willing to be fully mobile across Belgium and potentially beyond.
