General Manager Portugal

(Sintra, Portugal)

Your Mission

As General Manager for Puratos Portugal, you will lead a mature  Puratos entity with full P&L responsibility, guiding all core functions—including Sales, Marketing, R&D, HR, Finance, Manufacturing, and Distribution. You'll oversee +140 employees, driving growth aligned with a global 2030 vision.

What you will do

As General Manager Portugal, you will lead and guide all activities from strategy setting to day-to-day execution including the following:

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the organization’s operations—including manufacturing, engineering, quality, R&D, marketing, sales, HR, finance, and product management—to ensure seamless daily execution and long-term success.
• Build and empower a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous development to attract, retain, and grow talent across the organization.
• Drive financial and operational excellence by implementing group standards, monitoring performance, and proactively addressing challenges to ensure profitability and outstanding customer service.
• Strengthen stakeholder relationships internally and externally—engaging with customers, peers, authorities, and professional associations—to enhance collaboration and market presence.
• Uphold compliance and ethical standards, ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and corporate policies related to labor, tax, quality, safety, and security.
• Participate in merger and acquisition growth activities, including investigations, evaluations, negotiations, and integration in accordance with corporate objectives and plans
• Represent the organization externally in professional associations to enhance visibility and support business interests. 

What we expect from you

• Master’s degree in Business or Economics combined with a solid track record of success in senior managerial position with P&L responsibility in the FMCG or related industries.  
• Ability to coach, motivate and inspire others in the organization and ensure a team cohesiveness resulting in great shared outcomes.
• Strong strategy development and execution skills to engage the team in a successful journey of fast growth. Proactive, systematic, rigorous, positive and dynamic with a bias for action.
• Demonstrated track record of customer engagement and impact with a passion for great products and customer relationships.  
• Digital-savvy and data driven leader with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for optimizing ways of working.  
• Well-developed organizational skills with ability to establish a well-ordered agenda.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect in a multi-geographical and international environment to build solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
