To build our team we are looking for an R&D Technical Advisor to join our team in Fringford.

Your Mission

The R&D Technical Advisor’s mission is to deliver frequent, state of the art, technical service & expertise. They inspire customers with differentiating finished goods, based on latest global & local trends while using our focus product range. In close collaboration with the business development teams, they maintain existing & grow new business at different types of customers through high end technical support and commercial contacts.

What you will do

Delight customers:

• Give demonstrations with Puratos products, finished goods and concepts in order to create close relationship with the customers
• Organise and/or give training sessions
• Participate and/or manage seminars & events in conjunction with Sales, Marketing and R&D
• Trouble shooting at customers to support them in solving issues in their daily production (recipe and process) in a timely manner

Develop inspirational finished goods and concepts:

• Actively look for customer needs and market trends and translate these into inspirational finished products
• Create finished goods & recipes using recipe database in close collaboration with the business development teams
• Share recipes with customers and colleagues through multiple communication media

Business development activities:

• Promote our focus products according to the Puratos Product Strategy
• Maintain existing business and develop new business by identifying opportunities and threats at customers
• Positively influence customers by great product demonstrations and highlighting our high-quality differentiating product range
• Representing the business at external events
• Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) for specified customer accounts

Build and share knowledge and experience:

• Help colleagues and customers build technical knowledge on Puratos products, technologies and solutions
• Stay up to date on new technologies, trends and techniques and share with other R&D Technical Advisors

New product development and innovations:

• Working alongside the customer to develop and bring to market innovative creations
• Give technical advice on the product characteristics that need to be considered in the product development process
• Support the business development teams in positioning the product range and determine gaps
• Developing a deep consumer and customer understanding, leveraging insight from all available sources
• Contribute to new product launches (product testing, pictures & video’s, market tests …)

Support Innovation Center organisation:

• Keep the Innovation Center in a perfect state on a day-to-day basis (through 5S implementation)
• Arrange raw materials needed for demonstrations or finished products
• Follow-up and report customer activities in CRM and reporting tools provided

Network building:

• Develop and maintain a network of machinery manufacturers, professional bakery organisations
• Develop and contribute to the internal R&D technical community

What we expect from you

• Secondary education in Bakery/Pastry
• Hands-on experience in one of these sectors: Bakery, Patisserie or Chocolate
• High level of creativity
• Be computer literate (primary usage: Microsoft Office Suite, CRM and SAP tools)
• Good knowledge on ingredients, process & equipment, and finished goods
• Presentation skills to promote ideas and products
• Capacity to influence others and to negotiate
• Consulting and selling skills
• Ability to find solutions to complex problems
• Be able to travel in the UK and occasionally abroad (40% on average)
• Be open to flexible working hours
• Hold a Drivers’ license and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Flexible personality and attitude: open-minded, honest, social, respectful, team player
• Independent with a commercial approach (to tailor make their program to the needs of the customers)
