Key Accountabilities

  • Inspect forklift prior to use. Check general condition and battery charge.
  • Load pallet dispenser and slip-sheets
  • Complete pallet count sheet. Ensuring each pallet is logged prior to going in warehouse or on a trailer.
  • ALWAYS Store all like products together
  • Stage all packaging material that will be needed for the run
  • A clean and organized work area is expected to be maintained at all times
  • Pull product from warehouse or staging area, check orders, load onto trailers per pick/pull sheets
  • Record Julian codes and amount pulled on pick/pull sheet
  • Observe and follow FIFO- First In First Out rule
  • Loading and unloading of pallet trailers and transfer trailers
  • Check in and sign out drivers, give them the proper paperwork
  • Help with inbound raw material deliveries when short handed
  • All trucks must be loaded on a given day, overtime may be required
  • Ability to stack pallets of finish goods and raw materials
  • Help with daily, monthly, and yearly inventory counts when needed
  • Employee must follow and comply with the plants’ GMP, Food Safety and Safety Procedure

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements

  • 1-3 years forklift experience
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills, and ability to consistently read and record alphanumeric codes.
  • Computer knowledge: basics skills/usage.  SAP experience preferred.
  • Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members, other employees, and truck drivers.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Production areas are noisy; regular use of ear plugs/muffs required.
  • Safety glasses and safety footwear (steel toe, non-slip) required.
  • Hair and beard nets required.
  • Some areas are dusty.
  • Operating forklift including repeatedly getting on and off throughout the shift.
  • Regular walking, standing, bending, and twisting.

Compensation

  • Hourly compensation for this position is based on skills and experience, ranging from $18.00 - $23.00
