POSITION OVERVIEW

Based at our Gauteng branch , in oder to further strengthen our global Quality team, we are currently seeking a:

QA Technologist – (Johannesburg, South Africa)

Reporting directly to the QC/QA Manager, the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible for:

• Work with QC/QA Manager to ensure Food Safety is Managed and maintained

III. – KEY TASKS

• Check cleaning of magnets daily – and counter sign
• Ensure that there is a SOP for every task and corresponding checklist
• Check metal detector daily
• Check sieve daily and sign as verification
•  Report any issues related to food safety via daily report sheet
• Conduct weekly meeting addressing findings
• Raise non-conformances and track completion
• Review findings of co-workers GMP’s and track completion
• Ensure all equipment on the floor is included in the master cleaning schedule
• Managing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System
• Managing and representing the company in external audits and supplier audits
• Coordinating management reviews for the FSSC 22000 system
• Coordinating and training of staff on food safety related aspects
• Managing and scheduling an internal audit plan and ensuring that it meets requirements of the FSCC 22000 system
• Root cause analysis of customer complaints and rejections
• Complaint management
• receiving of complaints from a SharePoint system, investigating the complaint with stake holders and responding the complaint with an investigation report
• Trending of complaints and other related aspects for food safety
• Updating of notice board
• policies, procedures, and monthly trends
• Maintain a corrective action preventative action spreadsheet
• Reviewing SQA documents on a monthly basis
• Ensure that records are maintained
• Perform other duties as per operational requirements.

IV. – JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Matric (Grade 12) and a National Diploma in Food Technology or relevant qualification
• At least 3 years’ experience in food manufacturing environment
• Proven analytical strengths and experience.
• Computer literacy: MS Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Fluency of speech and a courteous disposition are key aspects of the job.
• Social interactions with other persons extend to line managers, executive management and customers.
• Written comprehension – the ability to read and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
• Good communication skills - English is a prerequisite.
• Ability to read and write in English and any other language(s)
• Good personality, hardworking, team work, service orientated, creative, innovative, trustworthy, open to learn from feedback.
