To strengthen our team in Tunari factory, we are looking for:
Quality Assurance & Quality Control Manager
(Industry: Food Production, Tunari, Ilfov, Romania)
Your Mission
We are looking for a Quality Assurance & Quality Control Manager based in Tunari, reporting to the Operations Manager. In this role, you will lead quality assurance and quality control processes across raw materials and finished products, ensuring full compliance with GFSI standards and internal standards. You will coordinate the HACCP team, drive continuous improvement in product quality and site compliance, and oversee Health, Safety & Environment activities, contributing to a safe, compliant, and high-performing production environment.
What you will do
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the Quality Management team, setting, monitoring, and evaluating team objectives aligned with company and group performance goals
- Ensure the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System in line with GFSI and group standards
- Oversee quality-related activities across the site, including raw material and packaging reception, production processes, and physico-chemical laboratory operations
- Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and all applicable quality and food safety regulations
- Lead the HACCP system, including documentation, verification, and continuous updates
- Manage internal audits by defining the annual audit plan and coordinating internal audit teams
- Monitor system performance, analyze quality KPIs, and report results to the management team
- Handle customer complaints, ensure proper investigation, corrective actions, and reporting of performance indicators to the group
- Manage non-conforming products and coordinate corrective and preventive actions together with Production and R&D teams
- Ensure compliance with certifications and schemes such as RSPO and Rainforest Alliance (RFA), including documentation and traceability requirements
- Maintain and update all required authorizations and registrations (DSP, DSVSA, etc.) in line with legal requirements
- Ensure suppliers' compliance with applicable regulations, including EUDR
Quality & Compliance
- Develop, update, and ensure proper implementation of procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation
- Translate legal and regulatory requirements into internal quality system standards and processes
- Deliver quality training and support the continuous development of employees in the quality area
- Participate actively in audits and inspections conducted by authorities (ANPC, DSP, DSVSA)
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure basic legal compliance regarding workplace safety and environmental requirements
- Manage the selection and monitoring of external work safety vendors providing HSE-related services to the company
- Monitor and continuously improve safety conditions in production and warehouse areas
- Monitor vendors in organizing and delivering safety training for employees (operators, shifts)
- Identify, track, and follow up on risks, incidents, and near misses
- Maintain clear and effective HSE procedures and documentation
Note: HSE responsibilities are part of the role. Previous experience is not mandatory; training and support will be provided. We are looking for a candidate willing to develop in this area.
What we expect from you
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Quality role within the food industry
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP is an advantage)
Skills & Competencies
- Leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to set and manage performance objectives
- Good knowledge of food industry regulations and the ability to translate legal requirements into internal processes and documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage non-conformities and implement corrective actions
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken) to collaborate effectively in an international environment
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment while meeting deadlines
Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles in the food industry
- Solid knowledge of GFSI standards (minimum FSSC 22000 v6), GMP, and HACCP
- Practical experience in implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems

At Puratos, we believe in rewarding talent and dedication.
For this role, the annual gross base salary ranges between RON 189,040 and RON 295,375, depending on your experience, skills, and overall contribution to the role.
On top of the base salary, we offer a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including:
