Application Specialist

(Prishtina - Kosova)

To ensure our sales ambition in the industry, we need to have a strong technical team to support the key customers and our sales team.

Application Specialist’s mission is to develop business at key accounts, in close collaboration with business development teams, by deploying high end technical expertise.

Together with the key account team, they manage projects by proposing and implementing innovative solutions on their lines and by troubleshooting issues of large account customers.

What will you do

Business development activities:

• Identify new business opportunities at large account customers
• Turn new business opportunities into new products and sales and implement them on the customer’s production lines
• Detect products at risk and define a clear action plan to protect our business
• Share insights on relevant finished goods, products that can be developed/implemented to develop our business at large accounts.
• Participate in strategic exercises to develop key account plans, in close collaboration with the key account manager

Delight customers:

• Frequent large account customer visits to maintain a strong relationship with the technical people
• Inspire customers with creative and differentiating finished goods taking into account the framework of an industrial production environment
• Share high end expertise with large account customers via presentations and seminars on our products, technologies and solutions
• Organise and/or give training sessions
• Participate and/or manage seminars & events in conjunction with Sales, Marketing and R&D. (TT,IPS,CID…)
• Trouble shooting at large account customers to support them in solving issues in their daily production in a timely manner
• Look proactively for possible cost reduction at large account customers using our innovative solutions
• Respect the quality and food safety standards of our customers and respect confidentiality

New product development and innovation:

• Together with R&D team, develop new tailor-made products, adapt existing ones & contribute to formulation of new products
• Contribute early on in the development process to product development for general market in close collaboration with the R&D and Marketing department
• Use an analytical approach (Recipe Additive Process) to understand possible deviations and to prepare the test plan for successful implementation
• Drive development projects from initiation to sales (SANCOC based)
• Give technical advice on the product characteristics that need to be taken into account in the product development process. Advise on how the products are being used and how they can the customers’ life easier
• Translate guidelines and new developments from the head-quarters towards the local market

Build and share knowledge and experience:

• Help colleagues and customers build technical knowledge on Puratos products, technologies and solutions
• Stay up to date on new technologies, machinery/equipment, trends and techniques and share with other application specialists/technical advisors/R&D

Support Innovation Center/IBCC/R&D Lab organization:

• Keep the Innovation Center in a perfect state on a day-to-day base (through 5S implementation)
• Look for relevant industrial equipment that can be used in the IBCC
• Assure premium performance by designing standardized baking tests
• Inform the purchase responsible about raw materials needed for tests/industrial demo’s…
• Report all food safety and quality issues to N+1 and/or quality responsible and take immediate action as defined by the quality procedures

Network building:

• Develop and maintain a network of schools, industrial machinery manufacturers, professional organizations
• Develop and contribute in the internal international technical community

Technical administration:

• Follow-up and report customer activities in CRM and reporting tools
• Build accessible project documentation by using project management tools, formulation sheets, visit templates, test templates…

What we expect from you

• Industrial Bakery experience
• Food Science or Chemistry degree is an advantage
• Advanced or fluent level of English language is mandatory  
• Fluent Albanian and/or Macedonian would be considered as a plus
• Technical knowledge: basic understanding of ingredients, additives or food chemistry, online processing experience, packaging materials, related legislation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Great Presentation skills
• Basic computer skills
• Category B driving license
• Willingness to travel to other countries two times per year (mostly Belgium or Germany)
• Customer oriented, with strong sense for business development
• Ability to translate creative concepts into inspirational finished goods within the framework of an industrial production environment
• Analytical skills and problem-solving attitude
