To strengthen our team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, we are looking for a:
Financial Accountant
(Addis Ababa – Ethiopia)
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in supporting the finance team’s operations. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and supporting effective financial management and reporting.
Key Tasks
- Review payment requests and verify supporting documents
- Ensure budget availability before processing payments
- Record accrued expenses accurately
- Prepare cash and bank payment vouchers, including cheques
- Deduct withholding tax in compliance with tax regulations
- Process payments upon proper authorization
- Collect official receipts with valid TIN numbers
- Analyze financial transactions, summarize, code, and update the general ledger
- Reconcile and settle purchase and per diem advance accounts
- Stamp all paid invoices and receipts
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents for audit and reference
- Prepare daily cash flow reports and cash closing
- Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor

Position Profile
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance, or a related field (required)
Experience (Years & Type)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in financial accounting or similar role
- Experience in accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience in financial analysis, reconciliations, and budgeting processes
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
Languages
- English (spoken and written) – required
- Amharic or other local languages – an advantage
