HR Generalist West Africa (Abidjan, Ivory Coast)

Your Mission

Based in Abidjan, you will provide end-to-end HR support across Ivory Coast, Cocoa West Africa, Cameroon, and Nigeria, serving an employee population of approximately 50 people. Working closely with local management teams and regional HR stakeholders, you will help ensure efficient, compliant, and people-focused HR practices while supporting business growth across the region.

This role offers a unique opportunity to combine HR operations, payroll coordination, recruitment, employee relations, talent processes, HR administration, and policy implementation within a dynamic international environment.

What you will do

As HR Generalist West Africa, you will play a key role in delivering a consistent employee experience and supporting managers across several countries.

  • Managing day-to-day HR operations while ensuring compliance with local legislation and alignment with Group HR policies.
  • Coordinating payroll activities and HR administration to ensure accurate employee records, data quality, and timely processing of HR transactions.
  • Leading recruitment and onboarding activities, helping attract, hire, and successfully integrate new employees into the organization.
  • Supporting the full employee lifecycle, including contracts, employee files, probation reviews, employment changes, disciplinary processes, and offboarding activities.
  • Advising managers and employees on employee relations matters and providing practical HR guidance on daily people-related topics.
  • Supporting the implementation of performance management, talent development, salary review, and learning initiatives across the region.
  • Maintaining reliable HR data, reporting, and continuous improvement of HR processes and employee services.

The role reports directly to the Cluster HR Lead for Africa, with a dotted line to the APMEA HR Director.

What we expect from you

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Law, or a related field, and bring at least 5 years of HR experience, ideally within an international or multi-entity environment. You have solid knowledge of core HR processes, including recruitment, payroll coordination, employee administration, performance management, employee relations, and HR compliance.
  • You are a hands-on HR professional who combines a structured and detail-oriented approach with strong execution skills. Comfortable working autonomously, you manage operational HR topics pragmatically and efficiently while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Thanks to your strong communication and interpersonal skills, you build trusted relationships with managers, employees, and external partners. You are service-oriented, a practical problem solver, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively across different entities and stakeholders.
  • You are fluent in English and French and are comfortable working with MS Office applications. Experience with SuccessFactors or another HRIS is considered an asset.

Key strengths

  • Strong execution and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and compliance.
  • Ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across different cultures and locations.
