To strengthen our team in Abidjan – Côte d’Ivoire, we are looking for:

 

 

Country business controller

(Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire)

 

Your Mission

Reporting to the Finance Manager, and in close collaboration with various departments, you will ensure financial integrity, optimize costs, and support strategic decision-making to drive business growth and sustainability.

 

What you will do

 

Financial Analysis and Planning:

  • Assist with monthly closing, including accruals calculations for freight costs, marketing costs, production costs, etc.
  • Perform analysis on various fields such as freight costs, marketing costs, service levels, production costs.
  • Prepare monthly result comments based on variances between actuals and budget for volume, sales, and costs.
  • Support reports consolidation using different BI tools used within the group.

 

Process Improvement:

  • Develop new Power BI reports, improve cross-channel processes, and maintain accurate documentation.

 

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain the perpetual inventory system, perform regular cycle counts, and correct inventory misstatements.

 

Monthly Closing Process:

Schedule and coordinate with other departments to meet closing deadlines. This includes planning and leading monthly and quarterly inventory

 

Budgeting:

  • Actively participate in the annual budgeting process by providing updated cost information across different product lines and coordinating with the Regional Finance department and internal/external auditors.
  • Cost management

 

Financial Reporting:

  • Provide accurate and timely financial information, including actual product costs and standard costs for new products.

 

Operational Analysis:

  • Analyze complex manufacturing processes in coordination with Operations Management to improve decision-making.
  • Analyse cost efficiency

 

System Integrity: Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the accounting system.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards.

 

Sustainability Reporting: Track and report on the financial aspects of our sustainability initiatives.

 

Pricing: Strive for continuous improvement in the pricing architectures across all channels.

 

Support sales negotiations with customers and maintain the pricing database for Industrial and Artisan customers.

 

  • Prepare and present price scenarios considering recipes, production costs, supply chain costs, and transfer price evolutions.

 

  • Prepare offers in close collaboration with sales teams, following pricing architectures and HQ pricing department recommendations.

 

  • Create and actively follow customer contracts, participating in sales meetings.

 

What we expect from you

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a relevant field.
  • Proven experience (3 years minimum) as a financial controller or similar role, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices.
  • Experience of local and international accounting practices and knowledge of International Financial reporting standards (IFRS)
  • Experience with Odoo ERP(preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills which form the basis of strategic thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
