Position Overview

 

Based in Tokyo, in order to further strengthen our Operations team, we are currently looking for:

 

Supply Chain Director

(Tokyo, Japan)

 

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible for the supply chain management. The person supervises and is responsible for materials management, inventory control, ingredient and material procurement for import and locally produced products, distribution & warehousing activities, and customer service operation.  The person manages a team of 5.  The Supply Chain Director is a member of the Puratos Japan management team and a member of the regional Operations team. 

 

The Supply Chain Director will integrate the supply chain activities in order to

  • Improve operational efficiency
  • Maximize service level to our customers
  • Minimize Distribution & Warehousing costs
  • Minimize inefficiencies (obsolete stocks & inventory adjustments)
  • Optimize the working capital
  • Manage OEM operation
  • Manage the purchasing/procurement of RM/PM
  • Create a competitive advantage through our supply chain.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Lead, inspire, motivate and develop a professional Supply Chain team.

 

  • Keep improving the sales forecasts by developing planning strategies and managing the forecasting process with Sales team.

 

  • Maintaining an excellent Service Level.

 

  • Assure timely procurement from each production site in overseas/Japan with best planning skills and dealing with the constraints such as lead-time, production capacity and MOQ.  Keep the optimum stock level and minimize the obsolete stock.

 

  • Develop the supply chain network from the production site to the customers in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

 

  • Ensure the efficient production plan of the multiple local production sites by continuing creating a cooperative relationship with the contracted manufacturers.

 

  • Negotiate and manage the local purchasing of the raw & packaging materials and optimize the cost of local production.

 

  • Deal with the customer complaints on SCM related issues.

 

  • Continuously initiate, support & manage supply chain improvements in following areas: material flows, cost reduction, lead time compression, working capital optimization, collaboration with best value partners, SKU management, supply chain design.

 

  • Implement and lead a monthly S&OP process with the concerned parties.

 

  • Manage and interpret supply chain KPI’s by providing their impacts & root cause analysis in monthly base; take appropriate actions when needed.

 

Profile

  • University Degree
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant SCM experience specifically in the areas of planning and logistics, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of people/team management
  • Fluent Japanese and English.
  • ICT: MRP/ERP (Specifically SAP), MS Office, Power BI
