Business Development Manager - Sourdough & Bakery Flavors

MISSION:

 

Drive the business development of the Bakery Flavors category by providing expertise support and business opportunities to our commercial & technical teams, as well as to our customers, contributing both to their success and to our ambitious long range growth target in the region of USA, Canada and Mexico.   It is critical that the candidate be comfortable identifying key market opportunities and leading appropriate courses of action.

 

 

KEY TASKS:

 

  • Define and execute together with the Product Manager SBU and the local business development team a business plan ensuring targeted sales growth in all channels (artisan, industry and retail)
  • In close collaboration with Sales, accelerate sales growth at large accounts by supporting existing projects or generating new customer projects through prospecting visits, presenting new solutions, networking in the industry or other means of generating interest from potential customers. 
  • Track and manage closely sales results (SAP), ongoing projects (CRM) and supply chain requirements (S&OP) in order to ensure optimum delivery of goods and services while working with all departments to remove potential hurdles in the sales process.   
  • Work closely with the local and group R&D team of the BU to align on a development strategy relevant for our customers and sustaining the growth plan.
  • Define a clear supply chain strategy (sourcing, production, pricing, transfer and export) for products produced locally and imported,  in collaboration with Operations, the BU Director and Pricing
  • Leverage resources in the organization and create top-of-mind enthusiasm for the range across the organization to support the business growth of the category by further developing  the local Business Development Teams (BDT),leading the US BDT, and ensuring constant training and internal promotion is implemented.
  • Understand the market (products / customers / trends / competitors) and network actively internally and with key players in the market (institutes, customers, federations,…)  in order to generate awareness, business opportunities and feedback, relevant for the BU and its long-term strategy (innovation ideas, trends, etc) 
     

 

PROFILE

  • Marketing and/or sales experience in B2B with proven track record of successful results
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably within Marketing, Business, Food Science, Bakery Science, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive growth projects within market segments of responsibility
  • Previous technical background within food industry is an advantage. An understanding of baking ingredients and processes, in particular for sourdough within different baked goods.
  • Passionate about bread, food industry and food trends.
  • Strong communicator , influencer and networker. Ability to quickly and effectively build relationships, interact, and communicate information effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong business / financial acumen and very results driven. Ability to assess sales numbers, interpret and report on product and sales channels
  • Marketing knowledge, including market research, product positioning, launches, communication
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Well organized, and team player with ability to select and drive relevant priority projects autonomously.  Result (sales budget) oriented.
  • Travel: This position will be required to potentially travel up to 50% of the time
