HSE Manager

Job Title: EHS Manager Iberia

Department: Operations

Reports to: Operations Director Spain

Functional reporting line to: General Manager and Human Resources Director, as the scope of the job is the whole company and not just to Operations.

Location: Sils, Spain

 

MISSION

 

Develop, implement, and integrate programs to comply with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and requirements both at local and at Group level. The scope of the job is complex with multiple manufacturing sites and methods, as well as an extensive network of sales reps. The Manager will need to work both independently and with teams to meet business needs across the organization and contribute to help drive the overall business and EHS strategy

         

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Ensures the development and effective implementation of appropriate Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures and provide for their updating in line with applicable Legislation and Company guidelines.
  2. Initiate and influence integration of EHS policies and procedures into the business
  3. Provides for motivation and familiarization of all company employees respecting the importance of complying with EHS regulations and safety equipment provided.
  4. Ensure effective education programs on EHS are in place increasing the sensitivity of the whole organization to good practices and implementing an efficient communication
  5. Manage record/data keeping systems and statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans
  6. Conducts safety audits, both internal and external
  7. Provides technical support to senior management on any safety related issues
  8. Provides safety related input into new projects and installations
  9. Performs risk assessment
  10. Interface professionally with government officials in all areas of environment, health and safety

 

COMPETENCES & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems
  • >7 years’ experience driving EHS initiatives in an industrial environment
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations outside (regulatory agencies)
  • Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
  • Communication and influencing skills
  • Good observer, resilient
  • Analytical, Decision Making and Problem Solving skills
  • Fluent in English
