Material Planner

  • Work with planners and production team as well as suppliers and procurement to ensure sufficient inventory of raw materials at Rancho Dominguez facility in time to meet production requirements.
  • Minimize shortages and schedule changes as a result of raw materials by reporting and investigating supplier production and delivery challenges
  • Own and manage raw material levels to minimize obsolescence
  • Manage and report run downs of materials due to changes or deletions to product line
  • Coordinate material deliveries with plants to ensure sufficient raw materials are in place for scheduled production as well as appropriate storage space is available to receive material, may include transfers within Puratos facilities.
  • Monitor inbound deliveries to ensure orders ship complete & on time for arrival as scheduled
  • Ensure delivery confirmations are received from suppliers and address immediately any potential late deliveries
  • Work to coordinate supplier payments with the Finance department. Ensure correct pricing and MOQ in conjunction with Procurement team.
  • Maintain accurate database on suppliers, purchase orders, and pricing.
  • Accurately capture inbound freight costs as PO's are placed
  • Act as liaisons between manufacturing and other departments. Communicate with team members on potential shortages or issues related to raw materials.
  • Review and modify MRP planning values to optimize material planning
  • Track and update team on outstanding orders, delays or issues that may impact production and supply. Expedite orders as needed
  • Keep track of supplier performance with KPI's
  • Responsible for placing orders for non-stock items (office supplies, operation supplies, lab supplies, and innovation center supplies)




  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • Good Communication Skills with internal and external customers and departments
  • ISM or APICS certification desired
  • Previous experience in food/beverage manufacturing, sourcing, or supply chain
  • 1+ year of experience in planning, procurement, and/or account management is preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, & Outlook) with the ability to learn new applications as required
