Maintenance Technician
Maintenance Technician responsibilities include troubleshooting, repair, modification, installation, and preventative maintenance on facility, packaging, and process equipment, utilizing standard work practices to ensure production is completed in a safe and efficient manner. As a Pennant team member, the candidate will execute work orders and tasks as assigned, ensure safety and food safety is a condition, drive manufacturing operational improvements. Furthermore, the candidate must embrace and support the building operations.

- Required to troubleshoot manufacturing controls – PLC, AC Motor Drives, Rockwell Automation, etc.
- Required to read as-built drawings, blueprints, maintenance logs, and electrical drawings.
- Must have a general knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting / repair.
- Ability to demonstrate fundamental computer skills - Knowledge of CMMS preferred.
- Ability to perform maintenance and repair of production line equipment.
- Fundamental ability for welding, fabrication, pneumatics/ hydraulic, machinery rebuilding and skills for equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Knowledge of repair and work on steam and pressure lines.
- Knowledge of air compressors and filtration systems.
- Versed in lock-out/tag-out procedures and possess a strong safety orientation mindset with demonstrated performance.
Required Education / Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- Additional Certifications / Licenses Preferred
- Must possess an understanding of the processes in food manufacturing industry.
- 2-4 years of manufacturing, facility, or industrial experience preferred, preferably in food manufacturing environment.
- Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Overtime hours may be required based on work demand. Employee must be flexible with these hours.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects over 50 pounds.
- Employee must own and provide his/her own tools.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee at times can be exposed to flour/sugar dust particles. The dust levels in the work environment can sometimes be elevated. If needed, proper PPE is provided.
- Noise level in some plant locations are loud.
- The employee may spend 95% or more of their work hours on the plant floor.
- The employee may be expected to work outside on building grounds including elevated areas. (Building Rooftops)
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, stoop, walk and lift throughout the shift.
- Inspection and project work may require working in elevated conditions and working on ladders.
- GMPs require hair nets, beard nets to be worn on production areas.
- Uniforms and safety shoes will be provided along with any other specific required PPE.
Compensation
- Hourly compensation for this position is based on skills and experience, ranging from $30.00 - $38.00
