Position Overview:

 

Through proactive analyses of the business financials and comprehensive reports, the Operations Controller, as part of the local Management Teams, will play a key role in the sites’ objective of supporting Puratos’ business development in a sustainable and profitable way. (S)He will ensure the timely and accurate reporting of the actual performances of the sites and will lead the Forecast and the Budget processes.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement costing methodologies and models to accurately capture and report costs of raw materials, labor, and overheads for all manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze and report on cost variances, production efficiencies, and cost drivers to support decision-making for operations and finance management.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for improvement to achieve business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain product cost standards and ensure accuracy of inventory valuation.
  • Lead the monthly close process for cost accounting, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial statements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education experience
    • Minimum - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, CMA or other relevant professional certification is highly preferred.
  • Work Experience
    • Minimum – 8 years of progressive experience in cost accounting within a food manufacturing environment, with a strong track record of delivering results.
  • Prior Knowledge/Experience
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting principles and financial analysis.
    • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other analytical tools.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
