Control Room Engineer

•    Job Title: Control room technician
•    Department: Operations
•    Reports to: Production Supervisor
•    Direct subordinates:  
•    Location:  Pennsauken, New Jersey


    Observe all Puratos GMP’s, Sop’s, and SQF standards.  Operate all manual, automatic and or material handling equipment, safely and efficiently, while maintaining high quality standards that meet or exceed Puratos and customer requirements.

III.    KEY TASKS – Basic

1.    Must be able to safely work with automated industrial equipment, including operation, changeovers and basic maintenance.
2.    Report all food safety and quality issues to immediate Supervisor and / Quality technician.  Immediately report any safety issues to the supervisor, maintenance or management.   
3.    Responsible for the overall safety, quality, and efficiency of their work center 
4.    Comply with all company SOP’s  ( specific SOP’s particular for Job), GMP’s, and SQF  (specify regulations)
5.    Maintain a neat and sanitary work area at all times ( refer to pictures or additional details)
6.    Must conform to Puratos dress code and personal protective equipment policies 
7.    Perform any other duties as instructed by the management.


IV.    KEY TASKS – Position Specific

1.    Review and start production orders in MES and Simatic batch.
2.    Review and compare recipes in master control and MES.
3.    Must be able to learn the position in its entirety.
4.    Must be able to work in this position independently. 
5.    Must be able to train new control room technicians.
6.    Communicate with maintenance about necessary improvement and regular p/m’s.
7.    Must have excellent communication skills.
8.    Make manual adjustments to recipes that are incorrect and could cause hold product.
9.    Support and direct all operators.
10.    Ensure production is not impeded throughout the shift. 
11.    Identify and support streamlining projects to improve production when applicable.
12.    Suggest adjustments to staff in order to gain maximum production.
13.    Ability to work with excel. 
14.    Identify production changes and suggest corrective actions. 

V.    QUALIFICATIONS – Job Specific

1.    Must complete skill assessments with passing scores as defined by Puratos policy
2.    Must possess the ability to publicly speak.
3.    Must possess the ability to lead and inspire.
4.    Must possess the ability to receive and give constructive criticism.
5.    Must possess high moral and ethical standards
6.    Must be able to use production computer screens as instructed.
7.    Must be able to have basic computer literacy  and understanding of operating system
8.    Must demonstrate the ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
9.    Must demonstrate the ability to read and understand system instruction and training materials and show the ability to execute.
10.    Must be able to work overtime when mandated in accordance with the contract
11.    Must be able to follow instructions.
12.    Must have pass company physical when required


Attendance record must be in good standing, less than 1.5 points.
1.    Must be able to learn computer systems (mes, sap, simatic batch,)
2.    Must demonstrate specific prior experience that is directly pertinent to the skills required and operation involved.
3.    Must be able to perform all job functions pertinent to the process
4.    SQF training, GMP training, SOP training.
5.    Must be able to commit at least one full year to the position upon receiving the winning bid.
