Bilingual Regional Key Account Manager



Reporting to Director, National Sales, the Regional Key Account Manager is to develop profitable sales, reach the profitability targets and create a strong long-term partnership with the assigned regional key accounts. To do so s/he will define and implement the strategy, coordinate and manage the national business development teams in different countries.


Key Accountabilities:


Customer Intelligence:

  • Build the customer profile, keep it up to date and communicated to the local KAM’s
  • Set up international price comparison for key products and update yearly
  • Exchange all relevant information between countries on a permanent base
    Strategic Planning
  • Develop, formulate and implement a strategic development plan for the selected regional accounts in consensus with the local & global business development teams.
  • Organize at least yearly a general account review internally and if possible, also with the customer.
  • Business Management
  • Follow up the KPI’s: sales results, supply chain performance, quality. Clarify deviations and take necessary corrective actions
  • Report progress on the account plan on regular basis
    Project Management and Business Development
  • Organize a central customer project list and keep this up to date. Review quarterly with the local KAMs and business development teams ( R&D, Mkt, … )
  • Organize regular conferences with Puratos teams to exchange Best Practices and improve our overall performance with this customer
  • Give direct support to countries for major projects and business development when appropriate e.g. Innovation days, customer meetings, …

 Depending on the Customer’s organization: contact for the account’s international organization

  • Organize regular customer meetings to develop the business.  Participate when necessary to account steering committee meetings.
  • Coordinate and/or Negotiate the sales deals in accordance with the different country teams (pricing, delivery conditions etc.…)


  • University degree in Commerce, Business or Food Science
  • B2B sales experience in the food industry (ingredients or bakery), desirable
  • Field sales, Trade marketing or consumer marketing experience is an asset
  • Proven track record in Key Account Management (preferably in the Food industry)
  • Strong analytical, planning and project management skills
  • Capability to build network of relationships in the industry and establish relationship with contacts of different cultures
  • Act as a subject matter expert
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer relationship management.
  • Proficient in MS Office; ability to work with CRM systems
  • Excellent communicator with strong verbal, written and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of sales budgeting process, marketing techniques, production and distribution processes.
  • Valid driver’s license and car; travel required for the purposes of customer visits, etc.
  • Fluent in English & French – spoken & written skills required
