R&D Manager, Patisserie

R&D Manager, Patisserie

(Mississauga, ON)

 

Reporting to the R&D Director, the R&D Manager, Patisserie will be responsible for the business growth of the product category through the development of innovative solutions, business development, cost optimization, operational support, people management and resource planning.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contribute in development, implementation and support of the yearly category initiatives and actions
  • Proactively develop strategies with the business development team to optimize the existing portfolio
  • Identify market / product opportunities and threats and implement action plans accordingly
  • Conduct internal and external presentation and seminars explaining the benefits of our products
  • Develop new products and concepts through local or global innovation process
  • Develop and enable execution of cost reduction programs maintaining performances, including raw material rationalization
  • Support Operations and TQM in resolving quality issues, rework, implementation of new products in production and non-conformity reviews
  • Align the R&D activities with sales, marketing and operations expectations
  • Manage, coach and develop team
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all technical documentation
  • Collaborate with Group R&D and other country R&D teams in the context of project/priority management and best practice exchanges
  • Assure premium performance of the R&D Lab
  • Comply with food safety procedures

 

Profile:

  • University Degree in Food Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years R&D experience in food industry (baking an asset), with a minimum of 2 to 3 years managing direct reports
  • Strong planning, organizational and project management skills
  • Creative, passionate and good at building relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, French an asset
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Programs
  • Able to travel up to 30% of the time
