Maintenance Technician

(Mississauga, ON)

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead, the Maintenance Technician will assist in the overall maintenance and repairs of the equipment and building facility with the view of maintaining the highest level of food safety, personal safety and equipment efficiency.

 

Key tasks

 

Maintenance execution 

  • Responsible for plant and equipment repairs, collaborating on-going maintenance projects with Puratos personal and external contractors.
  • Responsible for all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance work
  • When working outside regular hours the maintenance mechanic must be able to perform with minimal supervision.
  • Assist with the maintenance log of work CMMS system to provide future projections for budgetary purposes.
  • Keep the Maintenance/Engineering Team Lead informed of any maintenance issue or occurrences.
  • Attend Daily Line meeting and execute any actions within capability
  • Back up the Engineering / Maintenance Team Lead
  • Conduct themselves in a professional and appropriate manner
  • Act as back-up for Engineering / Maintenance Team Lead

 

Production process

  • Carry out repairs as requested by Production Team Leads, ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently and with the minimum disruption of the on-going production schedule.

Skills, education and experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Industrial Millwright License (433A) desired & General Knowledge of Electricity for trouble shooting purposes 
  • Extensive practical knowledge in operations, safety & HACCP Standards.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills (verbal/written).
  • Experience in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
  • Willing to work 12- hour shifts.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
  • Capable to organize, plan and execute tasks reliably and independently.
  • Able to think logically around issues & tasks and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to facilitate changes by influencing others through analytical approach.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Physical ability to stand for long hours and lift up to 50 pounds
