Industrial Mechanic (Afternoon Shift)

(Mississauga, ON)

 

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Industrial Mechanic ensures that all production equipment and utilities run continuously efficient and effective. He Maintain and follow up all identified maintenance activities across the manufacturing site, prepares all preventive and corrective workorders from material, QESH regulation and resources. He actively seeks for improvements in collaboration with the production and maintenance teams to increase technical reliability of the equipment. Understood the requirements of daily Operation and keep record as per require.

 

Key Accountabilities

Asset Care

  • Involve the maintenance activities in line with the Maintenance plan for assets in the designated work areas to optimize the reliability.
  • Day to Day collaboration with Production and Warehouse, support the execution of all planned maintenance / overhaul tasks optimizing production ensuring Planned Downtime is minimized.
  • In collaboration with Production and Warehouse support the effective ramp up of all equipment post maintenance and overhaul activities.
  • Identify the appropriate resources and skills required to effectively execute the agreed maintenance schedules.
  • Ahead of the planned maintenance activities ensure that the tools, SOP’s, work permits are properly filled and organized to ensure the maintenance plan can be effectively executed.
  • Support the prioritization of Basic and Complex tasks to support the Team Leader in assigning asset care tasks to team members.
  • Ensure the CMMS system is updated regularly to give visibility across all facilities.
  • During working with all contractor control and permit to work systems are adhered to and signed off correctly.

  • Share and replicate best practice with other team members and colleagues to improve the maintenance plan.
  • Active involvement in OpX programs.
  • Take the learning from Breakdown reports to improve the Maintenance plan.
  • Library of Technical Documents

  • Perform other tasks as required by your Direct Manager to ensure team performance and distribution output is achieved.
  • Must have the knowledge and flexibility to be able to cover other work areas.

  • Team of Maintenance: Utility & Facility Manager, Technicians (mechanics, electricians), Supervisors, Planners, Automation Engineers
  • Teams of Operations: Production Manager, Team Leaders, Expert Operators and Operators.
  • Health & Safety Engineer.
  • Quality Engineer (QA/QC)

 

Key External Relationships

  • OEM / MRO representatives.
  • External Training providers.
  • External consultants.
  • Peer in other companies also implementing Professional Maintenance.

Profile

  • Millwright Certified with Electrical/Mechanic.
  • Experience: 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in Maintenance and Electrician – beneficial would-be Operational Excellence experience
  • Languages: local site language, English (reading/writing/speaking)
  • Must knowledge with CMMS Program and (MS Teams, SharePoint, …)
