Position Overview

In order to further strengthen our team in Poland and support implementation of Continuous Improvement Program – OpX Excellence based (WCM) we are searching for:

Health and Safety Manager

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Be the contact person for H&S aspects for the legal entity.
  • Ensures the development and effective implementation of appropriate Health, Safety policies and procedures, benchmarked against ISO45001, ISO 14001 and ISO50001 and provide for their updating in line with the purpose, mission, vision, strategies and objectives identified at group level and in compliance with legislation.
  • Initiate and influence integration of H&S policies and procedures into the business and oversee compliance using local dashboards and analytics.
  • Reporting/benchmarking: manage record/data keeping systems and statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans, conducting inspections and audits, providing Group level with the needed information.
  • People development: Ensure effective education programs on H&S are in place increasing the sensitivity of the whole organization to good practices and implementing an effective communication.
  • Provides technical support to senior management on any safety related issues.
  • Provides H&S related input and validations into new projects and installations.
  • Interface professionally with government officials in all areas of health and safety.
  • Cooperate in execution of long range plan to our improve environmental performance (energy water efficiency). Co-build an internal and external network of specialists.
  • Organizing research and measurements of factors harmful for health in the work environment, keeping records of these measurements
  • Analysis of main causes of accidents at work / incidents, proposing corrective actions and their implementation in cooperation with managers of individual departments
  • Coordinating the work of the company's health and safety committee
  • Keeping post-accident documentation and records of occupational diseases and suspicions of such diseases
  • Managing a database of employee authorizations arising from current duties – maintaining the database, updating, budgeting for training/renewal of certificates and authorizations and coordinating their implementation
  • Providing expert opinion and advice on all investment projects in order to build a safe working environment

 

Required Competencies

  • Having a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with specialization in H&S, or having a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or some technical background.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as H&S responsible in an industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, e.g. ISO 14001, ISO5001 and ISO45001.
  • Very good knowledge of formal and legal requirements in the area of occupational health and safety and fire safety
  • Experience in preparing and conducting engaging training courses
  • Reliability and high sense of responsibility

  • Analytical skills to collect, structure, interpret data

  • Solution-oriented attitude
  • Very good communication skills (Ability to effectively interact with a diverse team of people of different levels of the organization and outside)
  • Fluent in English and Polish
