Key Account Manager - Chocolate

KEY TASKS        

 

  • Chocolatier Accounts (Primary): Your priority will be working with chocolatier businesses, a large and competitive channel.
  • Artisan, Industry, Retail Accounts (Secondary):  Your colleagues in the region are expected to sell chocolate to their patisserie customers.  You are the key regional sales expert to help consult them in their customer efforts.  Other resources are your chocolatier sales colleagues, the chocolate product manager and other chocolate technical resources.
  • Account Management: includes setting short and long term objectives for each account. Grow sales by $1m annually with a strong focus on innovative products.
  • Customer Relationships: Build customer relationships within their R&D, Marketing, Sales, and Senior Management team.
  • Prospective/New Business Development:  It is critical that you continue to develop new business customers in the region, so that the regional business can continue to grow.
  • Value Creation: Work with Product Managers, creating value within Industry accounts by using the Senso-Bus, Innovation Centers and Consumer Insights. 
  • Project Management: Work with R&D to select winning projects that have a high probability to succeed.
  • Business Management: Analyze monthly sales and ROI on resources that have been invested. Ability to explain major differences and suggest corrective actions and help implement these actions.
  • Strategic Planning / Vision: Create the vision for future growth within Key Accounts as well as the entire product portfolio, customer profile, triangle sales approach, pricing strategies and future resources.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing is preferred
  • Three (3) to fifteen (15) years’ experience in direct selling in the commercial industry, preferably in Chocolate. Key skills include relationship building, negotiation skills, strategic and critical thinking.  Must have an ability to work in an interdependent environment.
  • An in-depth knowledge of Marketing & Sales to develop new concepts.
  • A broad knowledge of our product range, technical knowledge, and product applications.
  • A good knowledge of the chocolate ingredients market and industry related businesses.
  • Excellent social competencies, respect and understanding of diverse cultures and languages for relationship building.
  • Knowledge of applicable software programs to communicate via email and develop activity memos, reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Keen understanding of financial issues relating to sales and profit.  Must be able to analyze and solve problems with a financial perspective.
