Tax technology manager

You will be part of our Global Tax team based in our HQ in Belgium (Groot-Bijgaarden, close to Brussels).

You will report to the Group Senior Tax Manager.

The main mission of this role is to:

Play a key role in the digitization of the tax function in the group and managing all Puratos tax compliance and tax reporting /accounting matters (both in Belgium as for the group).

Key Accountabilities

In this role, in close working relationship with colleagues in the Group Tax Department, Finance department and IT department, you will:

  • Manage the increase of data quality and transparency efforts in tax compliance activities
  • Manage the roll-out and widespread use of digital tools to ensure efficient tax reporting processes
  • Lead efficiency, automation and tax technology projects within the global tax department and the general tax domain by implementing
    • Efficiency solutions (eg RPA’s)
    • Data analysis, reporting and controlling tools
  • Manage in collaboration with external tax advisors all direct tax compliance activities (including local taxes) in Belgium and coordinate the tax compliance activities of the group:
    • Ensuring timely submission of all tax filing requirements with appropriate and consistent disclosures in Belgium
    • Monitor group-wide tax compliance
  • Coordinate the group tax accounting activities and contribute to an accurate current /deferred tax position at group level
  • Manage Belgian tax audits and ad-hoc tax authorities requests for information

Who are we looking for?

  • Academic degree: Bachelor or Master degree with specialization in (Belgian) tax,
  • Minimum 5 years of experience,
  • Be a tech savvy profile
  • Finance (SAP, etc) or tax technology systems knowledge
  • Software and programming experiences (XML, PowerBI, Alteryx, Azure,…)
  • Data management and Master Data knowledge are definitively a plus,
  • Project management experience,
  • Fluency in English both orally and in writing. French or Dutch or Spanish is a “plus”,
  • Strong technical, analytical and risk assessment abilities,
  • A self-starter with drive, high level of autonomy and ownership,
  • Ability to think out of the box,
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously, ,
  • Able to interact with IT teams and finance teams on a daily basis,
  • Able to work efficiently in a multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams .
